🇺🇸 **Dallas Update**
Over the past three days, we have been affected by severe downtime at our Dallas location. The cause was an air conditioning issue on the data center's side, which forced several servers into overheat protection. As a result, some hardware components and a critical core switch were damaged.
In the meantime, the data center has resolved the issue, and we have been able to restore all hardware components. We are still working on bringing the last remaining services back online, but we expect everything to be running stably again within the next two hours. We deeply appreciate your patience throughout this period.
All customers with services at this location will be compensated with €20 in ZAP credit. In addition, you will receive a 50% discount on your next Dallas order using the voucher code: Dallas-50off-1225
Fyi: Dallas-50off-1225 works with 50% off lifetime vps 👀
Looks like Santa was late but finally came with a lifetime discount haha

Wow!! I think that's a record coupon!
You could potentially get a small storage box (500gb) for a little over 100 with this!

You can also later switch location iirc (for a price). Nvm, after redeeming the coupon, I could also select Germany location right away (32€).

I wouldn't chance it and it could have been a bug but it looks like it was applying the coupon to other locations as well

Yeah, seems that way. Anyway, I'm probably not going to order anything anyway. The price is tempting, but I've already 2 (mostly) idling vps with them
It's indeed a record coupon and I couldn't resist so I went ahead and got a beefy VPS in Germany for a poorly optimized gameserver which needs strong single threaded performance, something my dedis can't provide (* cries in Ivy Bridge cpu marks *) but I unfortunately got deployed on an older v4 node.
I might ask whether I can migrate to an EPYC or Ryzen host as they advertised most servers would get deployed there (if not all?)

Did you have the chance to compare CPU performance between the two? A support rep. told me that performance should be about the same regardless of CPU model, because they are selling virtual cores. (They have never promised dedicated cores/threads, though)
They are willing to investigate it and work on it if I provide details about the gameserver I am intending to run (which I will) but I don't have high hopes

Didn't have the chance yet. To be fair, the vps are mostly idling and running Wireguard. I probably wouldn't notice much of a performance difference. Could probably compare yabs, but in the end it comes down to whether it performs the tasks you give it to your liking. I think in the OP (first pages) there is a yabs you could compare to your epyc yabs
They are willing to investigate it and work on it if I provide details about the gameserver I am intending to run (which I will) but I don't have high hopes
Which game?

Now, this is a story, all about how, I ended up with yet another lifetime ZAP server...
Hey, at least I can confirm something -- if you go to upgrade a service that you originally purchased with a coupon, it still applies the coupon. Perhaps there's some time limit on this, but I upgraded a service purchased a few months ago.
So Zap got two purchases from me yesterday, a new lifetime and an upgrade on an old lifetime, lol.

Good to know! I read that somewhere before. Good to hear that it works that way. 50% off on upgrades is nice

Echo that. Damn, the new one is totally an idler exacly because the old one got upgraded and is an epyc, and the new is a qemu in molasses.
old:

Single Core | 1298
Multi Core | 3998
new:
Processor : QEMU Virtual CPU version 2.5+
Single Core | 410

What are you running on your zap vps?
On the upgraded one (which I took to 1TB storage!) I'm running a Nextcloud instance and some PDF tools (Stirling, Paperless). Basically a remote document manager.

I've found that my Germany VPS is still on the old Xeon, but Ashburn (the one I upgraded) and LA (the new one) are both Epyc. I did ask them once, a few months ago, about upgrading the Germany one, but at the time they said there wasn't any capacity at the time.
I have old Xeon in Eygelshoven (Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2650 v2) although I have EPYC in a random VM I spin up with credits
AMD EPYC 7763 in Ashburn, Dallas & Los Angeles
As a side note, Zap started announcing 2a0c:3580::/29 in Eygelshoven quite recently (and 2a0c:3580::1 is pingable), so most likely IPv6 coming soon
I also just bought a VPS at the German location, and the infrastructure I received is Xeon V4. It seems like the transition to the new infrastructure allows me to do that. I will update YABS next time.
I sometimes run a Fika SPT server to play some coop Tarkov with a few friends.
It probably is the worst optimized game that I am aware of. As I run a headless client that hosts the whole game, it is very resource intensive at times. It needs very strong single threads scores and can easily consume up to 16GB of RAM.
I tried on my 2680v2 dedi and it wasn't a pleasant experience.
I tried checking out zap and selected the US locations. But seems it costs extra for that locstion (for lifetime) is there any reason for this? Compared to the EU location where it doesnt charge a location premium

Happy 2026 to you as well mate
I think it's just more expensive, because they probably don't have an own DC/own staff in the US. In Germany, they have in-house staff managing their hw, which is probably cheaper. Plus there's also elecricity and DC bills which might be higher in the US.
About Germany locations it says:
We offer our own server infrastructure with our own network and dedicated hardware at our main location in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The company \"ZAP-Hosting\" was founded at this location in 2010.
The Tier III data center \"SkyLink\" in Eygelshoven (near Aachen, directly on the Dutch border) was introduced in March 2020 as a \"branch office\" of our data center in Frankfurt. All traffic is routed via Frankfurt so that our customers benefit from an optimal connection and DDoS protection.
About US location it says:
At the PsychZ Data Center in the State of Texas/Virginia/California we have moved into a location with our own hardware and network technology.

I sent a ticket to the support staff, and unfortunately the AMD EPYC Servers are sold out, sadly. 2 days ago, when there was a 50% lifetime discount coupon, I sent a request and received it. A bit sad
Just a quick question which is the reasonable discount for the vps and dedis that are usually offered 30% (probably vps serie) maximum and when they are usually offered? Many thanks!
I believe in good luck. Harder that I work ,luckier i get.

Could be. You'd have to try the coupon. It might still work. The discord news did not include a date where the promotion would end. So might as well try your luck

Iirc during bf there were biggest promotions for lifetime vps around 30-35% off. So the 50% coupon above is really good for lifetime vps. You could try if it still works

And is it possible to switch location or update specs later at same rate (like more diks or something)? Any clue on that?

Iirc some posts above it has been commented that when upgrading specs, you still have the original voucher applied. So, it should work Pop a ticket to be safe though. Location switch probably then is possible, too.

This is what I heard back.
Yes, Lifetime VPS can be upgraded later.
You can increase CPU, RAM, or disk space at any time; you only pay the surcharge for the upgrade.
Discounts, vouchers, or special offers only apply to the original order, not to later upgrades.
Upgrades are always calculated with the normal price that is valid at that time.
A location change is usually not possible for VPS, only for many game servers.

Just a quick question which is the reasonable discount for the vps and dedis that are usually offered 30% (probably vps serie) maximum and when they are usually offered? Many thanks!
Iirc during bf there were biggest promotions for lifetime vps around 30-35% off. So the 50% coupon above is really good for lifetime vps. You could try if it still works
O that raises some hope

Thanks for sharing Which specs did you get and Ryzen or Xeon?
Where is the 50% off coupon code? coz I want to buy moar!!!

worried a bit too much about this code running for this long...
shit's already getting out of hand IMO
Seeing this status is a bit worrying, it means there are more lifetime users. Hopefully it will last at least 1 year and I won't feel like I've lost anything.

Got this on Discord:
Looks like Santa was late but finally came with a lifetime discount haha
Wow!! I think that's a record coupon!
You could potentially get a small storage box (500gb) for a little over 100 with this!
You can also later switch location iirc (for a price). Nvm, after redeeming the coupon, I could also select Germany location right away (32€).

I wouldn't chance it and it could have been a bug but it looks like it was applying the coupon to other locations as well
Yeah, seems that way. Anyway, I'm probably not going to order anything anyway. The price is tempting, but I've already 2 (mostly) idling vps with them
Ympker's VPN LTD Comparison, Uptime.is, Ympker's GitHub.
That stoopid code worked. Now stuck with another lifetime vps.
Ah, dammit. This is better than bf. Bought one at 50% off in Germany
Ympker's VPN LTD Comparison, Uptime.is, Ympker's GitHub.
I asked them if it was possible to migrate to a newer node, which they agreed to. But looks like the CPU limits are still equally as strict:
Ordered, but not yet deployed. Seems like it's on-hold. Maybe the coupon has been overused?
Edit: got deployed
Ympker's VPN LTD Comparison, Uptime.is, Ympker's GitHub.
My vps was also on Xeon cpu but I also asked them and it seems like it'll be moved to Epyc now
Great! A while ago they couldn't accommodate my request (during bf sale), so quite happy to have my first lifetime vps on EPYC
Edit: It's on EPYC now

Did you have the chance to compare CPU performance between the two? A support rep. told me that performance should be about the same regardless of CPU model, because they are selling virtual cores. (They have never promised dedicated cores/threads, though)
They are willing to investigate it and work on it if I provide details about the gameserver I am intending to run (which I will) but I don't have high hopes
Now, this is a story, all about how, I ended up with yet another lifetime ZAP server...
Which game?
Story of my day yesterday lol

Hey, at least I can confirm something -- if you go to upgrade a service that you originally purchased with a coupon, it still applies the coupon. Perhaps there's some time limit on this, but I upgraded a service purchased a few months ago.
So Zap got two purchases from me yesterday, a new lifetime and an upgrade on an old lifetime, lol.
Good to know! I read that somewhere before. Good to hear that it works that way. 50% off on upgrades is nice
What are you running on your zap vps?
Ympker's VPN LTD Comparison, Uptime.is, Ympker's GitHub.
Echo that. Damn, the new one is totally an idler exacly because the old one got upgraded and is an epyc, and the new is a qemu in molasses.
old:
Processor : AMD EPYC 7763 64-Core Processor
Single Core | 1298
Multi Core | 3998
new:
Processor : QEMU Virtual CPU version 2.5+
Single Core | 410
Multi Core | 1137
On the upgraded one (which I took to 1TB storage!) I'm running a Nextcloud instance and some PDF tools (Stirling, Paperless). Basically a remote document manager.
I've found that my Germany VPS is still on the old Xeon, but Ashburn (the one I upgraded) and LA (the new one) are both Epyc. I did ask them once, a few months ago, about upgrading the Germany one, but at the time they said there wasn't any capacity at the time.
Well... That was too good to pass up. I bought another!
Somehow I ended up grabbing all their locs
:'(
Hopefully no deadpool soon
I have old Xeon in Eygelshoven (Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2650 v2) although I have EPYC in a random VM I spin up with credits
AMD EPYC 7763 in Ashburn, Dallas & Los Angeles
As a side note, Zap started announcing 2a0c:3580::/29 in Eygelshoven quite recently (and 2a0c:3580::1 is pingable), so most likely IPv6 coming soon
Seems like many of us bought a vps again
That said, 50% off was too good to miss
Ympker's VPN LTD Comparison, Uptime.is, Ympker's GitHub.
I also just bought a VPS at the German location, and the infrastructure I received is Xeon V4. It seems like the transition to the new infrastructure allows me to do that. I will update YABS next time.
SSDNodes Coupon 30% - SSDNodes
I sometimes run a Fika SPT server to play some coop Tarkov with a few friends.
It probably is the worst optimized game that I am aware of. As I run a headless client that hosts the whole game, it is very resource intensive at times. It needs very strong single threads scores and can easily consume up to 16GB of RAM.
I tried on my 2680v2 dedi and it wasn't a pleasant experience.
Is germany data center SkyLink in Eygelshoven?
yeap
Life lesson: Steer away from Zap.
why do you say that?
steal hits 0.02% sometimes!
Veri bad i say! obvious scammerino
Hey all, happy 2026.

I sent a ticket to the support staff, and unfortunately the AMD EPYC Servers are sold out, sadly. 2 days ago, when there was a 50% lifetime discount coupon, I sent a request and received it. A bit sad
