Exactly. The AX160 was the "older" model and did not have a setup fee to try to encourage more sales before we could release the newer generation, the AX161. Now that the AX160 is no longer part of the "new" line-up, you'll likely start to see it soon on the Server Auction. --Katie

Actually, I think some sort of 'delay' would be a wise decision and reliable practice as there are always some bugs/glitches associated with NextCloud new releases which I've experienced a few times.

Last I checked you offered an Odroid XU-4 (past tense). Quite a step up from pi levels at the time.
Yeah the thing you're remembering as a pi was the odroid xu-4 which was somewhat more powerful, though Hetzner's version was on the expensive side iirc. ARM not catching on was less a matter of goodwill than that they (so far) have never been that hot a server side proposition despite some attempts like Caviar. Of course that may eventually change.
I don't think we need smaller vm's than the cx11, but the idea of an ipv6-only instances, or instances with no internet at all (internal hetzner network or vlan only) have attractions. Scaleway and AWS both offer that. They decrease the security attack surface, and save the cost of an ipv4 address. This applies to large vm's and dedis as well as small vm's.

It's included, if you keep it attached to a server I believe. Otherwise they charge a nominal fee.

Nice! EPYC 7502P. Very "Enterprise" . Your old Threadripper AX server is gone from the AX page, so hopefully a new one (based on 3970X?) is coming. That's probably of more interest for LET hosting.
@evnix Each one of our cloud servers always has one IPv4 and one IPv6 Net (/64). If you want floating IPs, they are extra.

I hope everyone is staying safe. Over here (USA) there is suddenly a gigantic amount of unemployment since so many businesses have had to stop operations. There's less issue finding people, than having ways for them to work safely on physical stuff like servers, requiring them to travel to and from the office or DC instead of working from quarantine. A DC is probably a good place to be though, relatively speaking, and if you can get to and from it.

It would also be cool to use 3970X to host a CX12, CX22, etc. Those would have the exact same specs as the CX11, CX21 etc. (same # of cores and same ram) but would be faster because of the 3970x's higher frequency cpu. They would be a bit more expensive and possibly have cpu allocation than the current stuff, without being dedicated. This would be like Vultr's high frequency instances which are very nice.
I think the idea of a CX61 has always been obvious to your devs: it just might not have been feasible when the cloud product was first introduced. It might be more doable now, using Epyc's higher core counts. I'm sure your team is already mindful of the possibilities. The CCX41 and CCX51 exist but the expensive resource in them is cpu, and users who want to run highly cached SQL or Redis instances mostly want high ram and are ok with shared cpu. So it would be great to have a CX61 that's similar. At least IME, the existing CX41 and CX51 have enough cpu headroom to handle multi-hour high-cpu tasks without throttling, so my hope is the imagined CX61 would be similar.

Nah, the unit economics just don't make sense.
The 2.5 eur boxes are great for dev/testing any OSS. No worries about minimum requirements for a 2-3 user use-case.

@evnix Each one of our cloud servers always has one IPv4 and one IPv6 Net (/64). If you want floating IPs, they are extra.

Our team's been in close contact with suppliers to try to fix logistics challenges. In addition, our HR team recently succeeded in finding new coworkers on very short notice for our Hardware Assembly team. Our team there is working as fast as they can while still trying to do quality work.

I hope everyone is staying safe. Over here (USA) there is suddenly a gigantic amount of unemployment since so many businesses have had to stop operations. There's less issue finding people, than having ways for them to work safely on physical stuff like servers, requiring them to travel to and from the office or DC instead of working from quarantine. A DC is probably a good place to be though, relatively speaking, and if you can get to and from it.

The epic controversy over white mode or black mode continues. At Hetzner Cloud's user interface Cloud Console, we've added black mode, so you can now choose which one you prefer.

@Hetzner_OL Does traffic between Cloud and dedicated servers count towards the Cloud traffic cap?
Ya know, this might not be what you had in mind, but a CX61 (basically 2x a CX51 in all dimensions) hosted on a large Epyc or TR3970X would be pretty handy.

We only calculate outgoing traffic in our monthly traffic limits. We do not include incoming and internal traffic in the calculation. Traffic between Hetzner Cloud servers and our dedicated root servers is internal traffic. The same is true for traffic between other Hetzner products. --Katie

It would also be cool to use 3970X to host a CX12, CX22, etc. Those would have the exact same specs as the CX11, CX21 etc. (same # of cores and same ram) but would be faster because of the 3970x's higher frequency cpu. They would be a bit more expensive and possibly have cpu allocation than the current stuff, without being dedicated. This would be like Vultr's high frequency instances which are very nice.
I think the idea of a CX61 has always been obvious to your devs: it just might not have been feasible when the cloud product was first introduced. It might be more doable now, using Epyc's higher core counts. I'm sure your team is already mindful of the possibilities. The CCX41 and CCX51 exist but the expensive resource in them is cpu, and users who want to run highly cached SQL or Redis instances mostly want high ram and are ok with shared cpu. So it would be great to have a CX61 that's similar. At least IME, the existing CX41 and CX51 have enough cpu headroom to handle multi-hour high-cpu tasks without throttling, so my hope is the imagined CX61 would be similar.
