Does maxmind randomly check corrections from individuals?
US locations geoip is a total mess (UK, Lithuania, Slovenia, Iran etc...) so I submit 20+ corrections /24 or /22 (from announcement) but only managed to get a reply for one subnet.
Can you submit to major geoIP databases? @VirMach
One-time corrections for Network Operators
In most cases, network operators should create a MaxMind account and submit a geofeed in which you publish your canonical geolocation data. MaxMind can consume RFC 8805 and RFC 9632 geofeeds.
All corrections submitted via geofeed are imported and reviewed once per business day. One-off corrections are typically reviewed within 1-2 business days.

Last time we tried we got back something on how they couldn't do it because we also sell VPN services on our website even though any VPS can run a VPN (they didn't get it or care.) So they'd rather just always be heavily incorrect rather than have a good service. You'd think they'd do anything to be a geolocation service than just keep old records of where the IP was originally assigned.
The only thing I can recommend is start using better geolocation services and encourage other sites to do the same instead of trying to save pennies on the dollar by going with MaxMind if they care about accurate geolocations.
https://db-ip.com is the only one that actually seems to provide a service that geolocates, I'm pretty sure they triangulate the location by pinging one per block or something like that and checking the routes or check BGP in some way or literally anything at all.

Well after all my procrastinating I wanted to support @VirMach just that little bit more - I bought a mystery - I don't know why, I definately need help. Now I have 10 servers that can cause me hassle at any time.
Day two is ending early. Get yours now or potentially regret it. Then we'll have a few hours break while I get NYC in order and catch up on tickets. As in day three won't go live immediately after.

That's the first time I heard maxmind reject corrections from IP owner/leaser.

I don't use them at all. It's just the wrong geoip info provided by maxmind affect me a lot.

Also I cant download files from dropbox without 403 loop or slow speed due to distant edge servers.
on LAX for example, using 1.1.1.1 got me the closet edge but 403 error. 8.8.8.8 resolves to Europe but at least it didn't throw a bunch of 403s

Rigged, the moment I show up the sale is ending.
But I get the message, I won't buy anything "today" :-)

I was on the fence until reading it was annoying to process. Now I have to order one.
If I'm being honest, that's also what tipped me to do it. <3 ya, @VirMach !
And, I've been having a lot of trouble ordering. It's already taken me several attempts so far and I'm still trying to pay.
For example, I placed the order while logged in, and clicking the order button then takes me to the page to register an account. Clicking 'login' then takes me to the page saying my IP is temporarily banned.
Failed Login Protection
Due to successive failed login attempts, your IP address has been temporarily banned from accessing the client area
Your ban will expire in 14:53
@VirMach I'm trying to give you my money! This deal also seems complicated to process with ordering. lol I hope it's worth it. crosses fingers and toes
I was finally able to give @VirMach my money and got smoked by the currency conversion. Woof.
@VirMach I hope the mystery is high AND a bit wild and insane (in the good ways, but not crazy, because I've heard that you shouldn't stick your data in crazy). :P

Why not just delete these accounts? It would save migration time.

there must be something wrong with your cdn cache and the compaign page still showing the xmas deals instead of candles.

There's was a secret prize if you collect all eight days. I feel like no one's able to do it anymore as I don't remember seeing someone order day one and two, so I feel safe saying that now. To be clear though I was still in the stages of conceptualizing what it would be to figure it out and make it cool, and the first thought in my head was "Menorah" which falls in line with what you just said, putting all the candles together. Okay I've said too much, now there's going to be someone that actually did buy the first two and is going to buy the rest because I'm hyping it up too much so I'll actually stop right there.
Oh right I actually scrapped that idea when the quantity limit wasn't reached, for it to work it needed to be eight separate plans.

More likely too much booze last night so I wanted to give @VirMach another Christmas present so he can have a laugh when I get even more crap

You're on the wrong thread for that, all of NYC went offline and someone blamed the candles.
Oh, that explains a lot. Thanks, I will go there and stir some shit, brb.

Today's deal has been expired. It was:
mild one 1gb 1c 25gb 2tb <5$/y
i am hyped for high, wild and insane ones
Candles do eventually go out. I hear a Mr. Edison has brought electricity to NYC, perhaps he could hook you up.
$5/yr addon - server powered by AC rather than candles and heat
Edison was DC, for AC you need Tesla.
@VirMach - thank you that was a great mystery box

Ordering now.
Edit: Or should I wait for "wild".
Decisions, decisions.
My source told me that you can get a "wet" addon for "wild." First year is free, and then it renews at $6.90/year.
I'm also tempted to order now, after my 'luck' with the lootbox last year...lol.
Can anyone explain what this game is? $18.88 for 2 years of VPS? or am I missing something crazy?
You're missing the 'crazy,' which is explained here a bit: https://lowendspirit.com/discussion/comment/200980/#Comment_200980

Maybe “Day 4: Wild” is the best time to join? I'm coming!
Best or Worst ... it'll be extreme for sure!
I don't know if me and my wallet can handle wild AND insane!

I feel like accepting preorders automatically curses any upcoming plans.

Welp, I still feel Christmas Spirit today and I will be good guy and I won't order it then!

The answer to your question is no.
@VirMach If I could only choose one, which one should I choose?
Day 3: High
Day 4: Wild
Day 7: Insane
Day 8: Insane/Wild
Why are you limiting yourself to just those days?
You should skip these candles.
Day 3: latency is high.
Day 4: routing loops are wild.
Day 7: CPU steal is insane.
Day 8: both of above.

I doubt my blood pressure medication would've been strong enough to handle that kind of excitement.
I hope it's strong enough to handle a 1200GB NVMe!
Just don't reveal the location during preoder? It adds more fun and makes it more of a loot box.
It won't be APAC so MJJ wouldn't be much of an issue
