mine wouldn't sync completely from non-smartermail/cranemail to smartermail/cranemail but those switches made it work fine

@NameCrane is disk usage calculated as compressed or uncompressed? I have 1.5GB worth of mail after migrating from purelymail, it seems they were reporting that incorrectly, even looking at my backups. but the usage on the services page only reports 0.44GB while SmarterMail reports 1.5GB

I would assume it's reporting uncompressed. Do you have some files uploaded?

PurelyMail compresses I think, I remember seeing it in their pricing calculator thing. I believe SmarterMail shows uncompressed.

One thing to note though is that it periodically indexes and calculates storage, so if you just moved a bunch it may take a little bit to do another run and calculate usage.

I will rephrase it, I may it may of got lost

• Purelymail reported 3.5GB uncompressed(2.4GB compressed) something wrong here maybe because of flat files it is increased due to block size
• my mail backup is 1.5GB so is SmarterMail
• namecrane services is listing as 0.44GB (I am guessing compressed?)

Awesome. This will probably speed up the process in future if you need to - Domain Settings -> Accounts, then you can select one and recalculate disk size. I haven't checked docs but I figure the storage tally runs on a ~24hr cron.

You can manually add domain aliases to the account, so you could create an alias for sub.domain.com (without using up 1 of the 15 primary domains), and then configure a catchall alias for that subdomain towards one of the mailboxes.

Thanks for the tip. It looks like i need to add the subdomain as a primary domain since i don't want to enable catchall on the base domain.

We made a few tweaks this evening to improve outbound delivery times (reduce sending delays). So testing messages to gmail seems to have gone from ~15-20 seconds for delivery, to about 9-10 seconds now.

Got a ticket open with SM to see if we can improve that further.

login as postmaster, go to domain settings then accounts

click on the postmaster account and choose rename like the above picture, I have not tried it, but you should be able to rename the postmaster account like this.

just tested the above

It'll only be for incoming and the webmail. Outgoing will stick to IPV4 for the time being.

Yep that's on the request list. We're working on a user management page inside of cranemail so users don't have to login to SM to do basic user actions (create, edit, delete of users). we can most likely add the option 'make user primary administrator' on the user add/edit account.

We just rolled out the 'domain users' part of cranemail portal. This allows you to:

• Quickly/easily create, edit, and delete users
• Quickly Login as any user via SSO (basically our version of 'impersonation' as many asked)

We'll expand this page to support mass user importing/creating via a CSV.

Wanted to drop a quick update on some of the changes and things Fran has built into the CraneMail portal in the last ~2 weeks.

• Implemented DNS verification for new domains
• Implemented domain alias adding via DNS verification (helps bypass the MX checks smartermail does otherwise)
• Implemented managing email users (add/edit/delete)
• Allow a user to define the admin login & password at domain create time, as well as the ability to change it after the fact w/o a support ticket
• DNS info page now does status checks w/ feedback
• Self-serve SpamExperts cut over from Shared to CraneMail w/o staff intervention
• File Storage & OnlyOffice toggles have been added for domains, as well as merged into the blesta & WHMCS modules
• Non resellers can now set a different domain for their SSL instead of forcing mail.domain.tld every time
• During domain creation a modal is now presented that shows the admin login/password, removing the silly 'create domain, view the password on another page' flow we had.

Lots of work going on behind the scenes to improve the user experience and expose more features from the portal where it makes sense, or where we can do things like bulk-adds easier via the API.

OnlyOffice integration has been fixed after getting broken in the latest update the other day. Should also no longer nag/error about collaboration settings.
