Yeah, a lifetime offer is great considering the storage, I agree. On the other side, to be honest, I'm idling mxroute for 3 years now, so it would be nice if there was like a $5 package for 50-75GB, to try it, as that's my limit.
Maybe Namecrane changes the offer, like for the feedback above, otherwise I will just stick with the current one I have.

Smaller plans aren't really worth it after payment gateway fees. The $20/3yr is ~$6.66/yr.
@Francisco is going to try to put together a demo system (that can't send mail), so we can at least hand out a fresh user account to play around with for 24hrs or whatever and test UI.

As a purchaser of the lifetime package I can say that I am EXTREMELY impressed with CraneMail. I do use MXROUTE and have no complaints however Cranemail takes this to another level.
So thank you and well done for all of the obvious hardwork to make this available.
What you like more comparing to mxroute? I'm considering buying the package, so would like to check. I will probably idle it anyway (like I'm currently doing), so I can't justify to myself to throw $10 ($7/y ftw). If it was around $5, I would.
Well to start with, if lifetime, then 250GB of storage is really good value. This is used for mail or available via webdav.
You have chat, calendars, remote storage integration, scheduling etc etc.
Some features are not fully available e.g. integration with EastOffice.
Also having some trouble with TLS when sending mail through cranemail.
What issue exactly? What if you set it as SSL instead of StartTLS?

I saw $20/3yr, but honestly, I would rather pay annually, as I most likely won't use it. All in all, I understand your point of view. If something changes, and $5 for 50GB magically appears at least as a flash sale, great, if not, it was worth asking.

While I don't understand the implications of tls_starttls off making it available would obviously help for anyone moving from another provider.

That was pretty much my reasoning. Our company is opening a bunch of subsidiaries this upcoming year (small companies with 3 or 4 people sharing IP). It's all specific small volume stuff, and I was planning to run it through something like zoho or email alias it.
But I saw the post, I trust Francisco, and $10/year is really very little compared to domain renewal costs, server costs, and our Google Admin cost is like 250/month. So why not spend a small bit to set it up right from the get go. It's really very affordable as provided, and quite generous as it is. I'm pretty excited to start setting it up, most likely in January.

One of the goals of this product was to meet 90%+ of the needs of people using gsuite, o365, zoho, etc, without the eye watering price.
No, we aren’t featured parity, but that’s ok since much of the market doesn’t need every little thing those platforms offer. Does everyone need intune and all that? Hell no, not even most businesses will use all of that.
In time I hope we can fill that gap in the market for many and help them save literally thousands a year. The stories I’ve been hearing from some of the beta users about their work paying $1000/m for o365 is insane.
@Francisco said:

I think you have hit that goal well.. I am not (yet) signed up but shared the info across to a few startup founders... Base tier of Zoho workspace (cheapest of the three) for 5 users/ single domain / 100 GB storage + office suite etc... is nearly 100 US Dollars/ year. We use Zoho W., and CraneMail could be a good backup system / plan B.
Many of the startup founders had the GSuite/ MS Office 1 year "complimentary" plans from startup incubators, etc... and when the full price hit, the sticker shock was quite... shocking.
Price is one factor, functionality was another (Onlyoffice has its learning curve, slow even on VPN for many locations in India) last but not the least- the server location... unless regulation requires server to be located in country (healthcare, financial services for sure), for others this is a good plan, better once Europe location goes live.

Is it possible to setup a sub domain for catchall?
Any mail that goes to a non-existing mailbox on @spam.domain.com gets forwarded to [email protected]
You can manually add domain aliases to the account, so you could create an alias for sub.domain.com (without using up 1 of the 15 primary domains), and then configure a catchall alias for that subdomain towards one of the mailboxes.
Even standard cPanel or DA is able to do that bro.
And that's always an option. Our cPanel and DA plans come with SpamExperts as well, and mail via our own filtering relays/IPs - so you could do what you want there.
CraneMail featureset includes stuff like fetching mail from other inboxes and 'send as' via their SMTP. So you can combine it with any other email account on hosting with us or another provider, and get the benefits of the GUI / having all your mail in one place.
The fetch mail stuff functions similar to how people set it up with gmail - so pull via POP (or IMAP) and replies get fed via that account's SMTP details.

while I am still waiting for my pending order I have a few questions to ask the people that have got theirs so far.
can I set the destination of a domain I added to the service to send to the MX route rather than the internal mailboxes, (e.g. adding my addy.io instance domain to the service, to use as a relay for sending emails only) purelymail does allow me to do this.
can I add whole domains to a whitelist of SpamExperts? for the same reason above.

We support split domains if that’s what you mean? Basically any inbox that’s not local gets yeeted to the next Mx you specify.
With some assistance from Mike, I have had my account activated!
I am currently tinkering around with the system, SmarterMail is a lot different to the ease of use of PurelyMail but it seems to have a lot of features.
I have not been able to get the email migration working from purelymail. it seems to be reporting invalid user details each time. changed password a few times, so I am currently migrating using imapsync (cya in about 4hours for 3.5GB)
it seems that catch-all is disabled by default for domains, I will be submitting a ticket later to enable this.
catch all is enabled by default, I was looking in the wrong place
it does not seem using a domain as a relay is an option, because if you add a domain and send email between accounts to the domains, it ignores the MX records if a domain is hosted within the system
I will be playing around with more of the features tomorrow.

the huge addition of the eM Client license is awesome, I been looking for a client to replace Thunderbird due to its handling (or not so much of) of inline images, not displaying them and showing them as attachments only, and eM Client seems to handle perfectly,
it is a Business license that works out like 40% more expensive than the lifetime payment just for one year. as much as I hate having to purchase subscription based software over lifetime, it was one of the reasons I never looked at the originally, but this offer was a huge bonus!
