Hi all,
We are planning a maintenance on Sunday, Aug 24. We will be updating and rebooting all of our hypervisors, during which you may experience a brief outage.
Our 3rd anniversary is coming up in October, and we are planning quite a few things. More details to follow soon, but exciting times ahead.
Thank you to all our sponsors for their generous donation of hypervisors, domains etc., and to you, the user, for playing fairly!
During our maintenance window on Sunday, we did some preparations on some of the nodes for our birthday surprise coming up.
Today though, we've done these upgrades on the Sweden server (so kindly donated by Internetport).
In addition to a small resources bump for everyone, we've added a little easter egg for users on that particular server - let's see who can find out what it is first!
If you noticed your server in Sweden was rebooted now, head on in to your terminal and see what's changed!
Until next time
It's been a while, but our birthday is coming up and we've got something special in store.
As correctly noted by some users, in the last few weeks we have restarted all the VMs giving them a nice little resources bump.
Minimum RAM is now 1GB with storage now at least 20GB. For the donor plans you can get up to a maximum of 4GB RAM and at least 40GB of storage, more depending on availability in the desired location.
In Sweden we have added some extra diks.
50 or 100GB of HDD storage in addition to the OS drive - not too shabby, huh?
We'd like to again remind people of our two newest nodes that haven't seen a lot of requests yet, from MicroTronix and HostingBot.
If you'd like to be moved to any of these feel free to send a message or post here and we can make it happen.
The Tokyo donor plan also received some love with extra RAM and storage.
And that brings us on to the star of the show, our new location generously sponsored by the team at Servers.Guru;
SINGAPORE IS LIVE!!!
The plan will have the same specs as Tokyo and be donor only,
1GB of RAM
20GB of storage
200GB bandwidth on 100 Mbps port
For now it's IPv4 only but IPv6 is on the roadmap.
Oops, that would be my bad! When consolodating all the plans I tried to take in to consideration all the giveaway winners but seems a few slipped through my fingers.
Sorry about that!
Added some RAM now, give it a restart from the panel.

As @sh97 said, each VM is capped at 100Mbit-ish, on the node it looks very different indeed:
Avg DL Speed : 3132.65 Mbps
Avg UL Speed : 580.32 Mbps
This was taken last night at somehow peek hours, so more than enough for our users and we are very happy and grateful.
Thanks again!

Hi all,
We'd like to announce our latest sponsor - @onidel ( onidel.com )
They have kindly agreed to sponsor a VM for running our VirtFusion Control Panel. Thanks to their HA architecture, we should not face any issues as we did with the VF in the past.
A very big thank you to Onidel for offering this!
Hello LES/FreeVPS team! Massive respect for keeping this amazing community project alive.
I'm going with Option 2. I have just made a donation of €5.25 (which is over the $5 USD minimum) to the Horn of Africa Crisis project. I've attached the screenshot of the donation receipt below.
Desired Specs & Location:
I would love to request the Tokyo, JP (WebHorizon) Donor node.
I read the rules and understand the Tokyo plan is specifically limited to: 1x Core (50%), 768MB RAM, 10GB NVMe, 200GB BW. That is perfectly fine! Being based in Japan myself, having a local Tokyo node with low latency is absolutely ideal for my lightweight WireGuard mesh and uptime monitoring.
Client No: 3265
Your ID: 615873852233
Proof of Donation:
Prayer: May the hypervisors enjoy eternal uptime, the NVMe drives never degrade, and the routing stay forever optimal. Long live the donors! 🙏

Moving to a flexible resource pool is a fantastic evolution for FreeVPS. It brings that 'Private Cloud' flexibility to the community, which is much more useful than static slices for those of us running multiple micro-services.
6 vCores and 6GB RAM is a very generous sandbox. Even though Tokyo isn't on the list yet, I'm eager to see how a US-based resource pack handles a multi-node WireGuard mesh.
DM sent! Hoping to be part of the lucky first five. 🤞

Coming from behind my CGNAT connection in Mexico, when I try to visit https://uptime.freevps.org/ Chrome says:

uptime.freevps.org took too long to respond.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall
Running Connectivity Diagnostics
ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT
Coming via proxy, I see this. Hovering the mouse over any of the X circles shows me "No data."
