2. Your technical level and operating system preferences, choose a system and management tool that suits you. Generally speaking, the Linux system is more popular and more resourceful than the Windows system, but it also requires certain technical knowledge and command line operations

3. Your budget and payment method, different VPS providers and packages, choose a solution that meets your budget and needs, and pay attention to the quality and support of the service, and whether it supports commonly used payment methods such as Alipay, WeChat, PayPal.
4. Your data is safe and backup, choose a reliable and reputable VPS provider to avoid data loss or leakage. At the same time, data backup data, install firewalls and anti -virus software, and timely repair vulnerabilities and errors.

Regretfully, I have to report that, so far, nobody else has stepped up to continue the funding. Therefore, the DE Node will be wiped and repurposed sometime after midnight UTC on February 5, 2024. Thus, February 5 will be the last day the Node can be used. Folks using the DE Node need to move before the wipe. and if it's possible with this spec
2 core
2GB ram
40Gb storage
prefered location Romania, EU
I also won a reward here for additional ram,
it would be nice if the rewards could be brought to the new location.
I want to use it as personal server for remote desktop, web server, nextcloud, online office, and vpn and any other things that come in mind in the future for the purpose of hobby and learning.
I was choosing Tokyo because it is close to me, but now I think EU is fine.

Is this a Redacted server that you held for longest without reinstalling the host OS?

I can confirm that the anonymous sponsor was not MetalVPS

Sunny is right, though, that I do like reinstalling. Sometimes I get a new server just because I haven't used Installimage for a week or two.

We've fixed an issue with the Ubuntu templates that affected a few of our locations leading to non-functional IPv6 connectivity.
This should not be an issue anymore, but please let us know if this still persists after creation.
On that topic, we've removed Ubuntu 18.04 and added 24.04 as an option!
Sunday 7th of July, we will have a maintenance window in the morning European time between 5 and 6 AM UTC.
All nodes will have updates applied and subsequently rebooted.
VMs should come up as normal following the restart but in case you encounter any issues, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
