I just received the following email:

We wanted to reach out to let you know that we are updating our Terms of Service on May 15, 2023.

Our goal is to unify our Terms of Service and our Community Rules for better consistency over our entire platform. The Community Rules will now apply to all uploads, both public and hidden. This means the following content is not permitted anywhere on Imgur:

• Nudity or sexually explicit content. Excludes educational, artistic, and informational content.

It seems they no longer accept nudity and pr0n, unless it is for education purposes.

So you keep watching the same scenes over and over again because you keep on forgetting what happened next, due to the natural and volatile functions of how human brain stores information. I guess now I understand why Imgur decided this: people kept revisiting the same content again and again; but this is not good for their servers, network and storage units.

Becoming tumblr v2 is not very bad. It is fantastic how image host lasted so long. Biggest hit will be on reddit, those nsfw subs. Wonder, where they migrate.

Seems like anyone who uploaded stuff without registering/logging-in is getting their stuff removed.

That would be nice to know, where is the line between nudity or sexually explicit content and educational, artistic or informational content. Is it just how moderators feels when he/she decides to ban content?
I don't have an imgur account so this change will not affect me directly. And propably not even undirectly.

This part is a much bigger deal and is going to cause a lot of problems.

Anyone with lists of Imgur URL's (which you can even export from your browser history, if you keep it) should submit them here and anyone who wants to lend their idlers to help with the archiving can try using docker.
