Yes I did get confirmation that torrenting and using public trackers are allowed on the Romania location

Technically as we’re a UK based company we have to abide by DMCA takedowns however if we never receive the DMCA notice then we don’t have to take action.
So to answer you’re question- Kind of. If @calin does truly ignore DMCA then it will never reach us and therefore it is effectively ignored 😉

I launched a couple of instances on the micronode credits product, quite happy with the performance / price I am paying. If only you can add alpine template that will be much appreciated I have a ticket open for long time already.

Hey everybody, long time reader first time poster, nice to meet yall.
To get right "back" on topic, here are my first impressions and thoughts on the micronode instance.
After registering on natvps.uk and purchasing a micronode instance I received an email with a link to a ticket, which contained my login credentials for the micronode control panel. A bit strange to me but it worked so who am I to complain?
Creating a nat vps is straight forward, select the amount of ram and disk space you desire, type in a host name and password and off ya go. A nice touch is that you can't "over provision", meaning the sliders for the resource selection adapt to the max amount of resources still unused on ones account. On the flip side you can't type in an exact amount of ram, it's in 32MB steps only from 64MB upwards.
Clicking on the Ports next to the nat vps redirects to the port calculator and prefills the IP address for you, which is a nice touch, no copy pasting necessary!
I have to say, I think it's a great idea to have a resource pool with nat vps's, the lack of a dedicated ipv4 just makes sense to me, no need to stockpile ipv4 in all locations in advance, just in case someone might create an instance there in the future.
Maybe someone else is experiencing this or it's just maintenance currently but I can't connect to all locations, funny enough the one farthest away (S. Korea) from me works just fine but France / UK for example don't work, just giving me a timeout when trying to establish a ssh connection. I'm sure it will resolve itself soon, considering the service hasn't been launched officially, some hiccups are to be expected after all.
All in all looking forward to more locations in the future and the marketplace as well.
EDIT: Crossed out the last statement with being unable to connect to some vps's and adding this:
After playing around more with creating and destroying instances, I think I figured out what caused this:
When creating a new instance, not explicitly selecting an OS results in the instance still being created as long as all other fields are filled out. That new instance will show up as having Debian installed (first OS in the OS selection). All instances created that way don't have any connectivity even though they're being displayed as active in the control panel.

The login details are sent as a support ticket as this is how we historically did it for Micronode back when it wasn't automated. We may change it down the line.
Users are encouraged to change their passwords upon receiving their account.

I created 2 instances and both are running smoothly. Even the one with 64MB ram works, apt works, no "Killed", no "FATAL -> Failed to fork" for now. Great service for testing purposes.
If I may suggest, could there be an option to add SSH keys when creating instances? I hate it when I have to randomly type a password, copy & paste and deal with dropbear which I'm not so familiar with. (ssh-import-id comes with openssh-server by default and causes conflicts)

Ahh should have nmentioned about ssh keys. But yeah that is the way to go.
Nice service. It is working without any glitches now. I think it was on the 20th, had created an ubuntu 20 instance in the finland node and couldn't connect to it. Haven't seen anything like that later with the other images.
As an enhancement, would suggest adding the ability to add a common ssh key and being able to have it as an authorized key in newly created instances.

Try running export PATH="/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/root/bin"
before running these commands.
Ping is not installed by default but dpkg tools should be.

O one more thing, why would the details of previous instances not be stored?
They are cached per location but not on the panel, we only store the hostname and the os distro - not version.
Is there a ipv4 reverse proxy to host site?

The plan is to add loadbalancers within the console to allow people to get redundant IPv4 connectivity across multiple locations.
This likely won’t be live until next year though.
In the meantime there will be a proxy service setup on the UK, FR and CA nodes over the next month.
