Gonna be honest, I went into this BF very unprepared. Didn't really have any solid plans as you can probably tell. Would have liked to set something up more formalized and herd the cats beforehand, but I've just had way too much going on lately. Probably a good indicator that it's time to bring on some additional help (not so much for moderation since everything is very easy going here, but more so for the event coordination and outreach).

BUT I'm still happy with how things turned out anyways. Wasn't overwhelming with offers here, but there was still a healthy amount and people seemed to get some great deals. I may try and pull a small something together for Christmas and/or New Years, we'll see.

Checked the main BF and the Virmach threads but had trouble finding any offers/deals buried in the thousands of random posts. Seemed like the online equivalent of those black friday videos you see with rivers of people trampling each other at Walmart. Some people might like the rush that all brings, but not me personally.

That's fair. I'm remembering now that's where all the flash sales are being posted at certain intervals. Not trying to rain on your parade -- you've obviously been very successful in generating a lot of hype and activity and that's great! Especially since you probably did almost all of it by yourself.

Note that I was actually considering the Hosthatch Storage or waiting for GreencloudVPS in a different location- have 2 VPS in Singapore, a diff location for backup would make sense. But now it's all happening in SG. Well, I can live with the lower latency.

I would just say that LES and the OGF are two different experiences.

The megathread at the OGF is definitely adrenalin-filled and contains a lot of chaos, but the tireless efforts of @FAT32 (with the flash sales) give it some underlying meaning/direction, despite everything. (But that thread is definitely not for everyone all of the time.)

Server provisioning is supposed to take 2 weeks so I can't really tell, and BTW Stockholm is already sold out! orz (I've edited the above post) ... BUT!

Probably ran out of stock just before you were able to place the order. Check back again at 18.00 CET

EDIT: They say the network is good (can't speak from my own experience though) and will supposedly be even better

I can highly recommend Stockholm, it's a great location with really good network. Yes it's only 10GbE public networking for now while AMS is 40GbE, but for the internal network it's 40GbE and the public is about to get upgraded too, we will get 100 GbE links there next year (upstreams, but 2x 40G per node)

to be fair I didn't really follow their thread (and am too lazy to search for it) but I am quite sure that question came up as well. If I am not mistaken this are gonna be newer systems and therefore also get newer CPUs etc. - not totally sure though and actually does not matter much for me.
