Black Friday 2019 best VPS under 7 bucks
I have been watching the BF2019 deals with interest and I guess I will put together in one thread the value assessments I am doing this period to see who gives the best value for the least money. I am selectively choosing only those VPS I think have a shot at winning and must be from reliable providers (else I won't have time for anything else).
The current standing:
- UltraVPS.eu SAS-Special-1 (LEBRE score: 281)
- HostDoc Dallas Dual Compute (LEBRE score: 194)

if it's not $7/year then its not a Black Friday.
I was also expecting
Silly me.
Don't worry Ant has some coming at https://inceptionhosting.com/limited-offers.html
7 a year can get you something but not sure how useful it will be. Best value, not absolutely cheap and not useable

Thought the title means $7/year. D;
It's probably going to be €7(at best $7 if top advertising word is right), so strictly not under $7/year.
Still, assuming it's the 100GB+IPv4 plan at the price of €7, would be a deal too good to pass.
oopsie!

That was quick!
I restored balance and put a €6.99 p/year offer up.

Deal
Php-friends is still doable at EUR 4,95 including VAT (cheaper with non EU)
I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.
yes, but unfortunately not very competitive this time.. at that price point might as well do hostdoc or UltraVPS.eu.. if they offered higher RAM or more vCPU, that would be difficult to resist

dedicated thread, RAID 10 SSD, first-colo network. schnupperspecial has been prem for me
I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.
Edit : in addition to the ultravps SAS,
I personally like the liteserver 3 Eur storage HDD.
1 E3 vCPU, 1GBram, 0.5 TB raid10 disk, 6TB transfer.
Considering additional IP costs on Hetzner, I'd rather move seafile /nextcloud to something like this, from the dedi.
Link to above is here, note 40% off coupon at top of page: https://liteserver.nl/hdd-storage-vps/
These days as a pure storage hog I find that offer kind of meh, but Liteserver is a good host.

EUR 30,00 annual after using code BF2019-UK-KVM-SSD equivalent to two-fiddy / mth
UK network prem
I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.
Looks like the usual BF cpusteal is acting up.
Wait 7 days before checking again.
Not familiar with Liteserver. Your expert opinion, please. I would like to know if it is another solid provider.

SOLID and FRIENDLY.
That's just icing on a beefy infrastructure cake.
Liteserver is solid.
I have less need for EU VPSes nowadays, but in the past had only good experiences with LiteServer. Excellent support.
+1 for @liteserver. I trust them with my main VPN box for over 4 years now.
that php friends is a good offer also @liteserver for the location
@liteserver ftw!

got this from @SpeedTest:
Switzerland
Linux SSD VPS - тарифный план Lite (CH) (45 с быстрой установкой) -
Платформа: KVM
Процессор: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2697 v3 2.6 GHz
Память: 1 GB
Диск: 20 GB SSD (RAID 10)
Трафик: Не учитывается
Порт: 1000 Mbit
IP: 1 шт. (возможен дозаказ) + IPv6 по запросу
https://cp.inferno.name/cart.php?gid=55
50% off recurring with BF2019VPS
so you end up paying $2.50/month or $30/year
I dont know about the provider, but for Swiss, its damn cheap
The thing is that you've become a true storage aficionado, whereas most of the rest of us have much more modest storage needs
Edit: And, of course, this is a KVM from LiteServer (and not some OVZ where you're not allowed to do apt dist-upgrade)

Yeah, I also find the PHP-Friends offer to be excellent -- one needs to look a bit beyond the simple specs of the VPS.
Still debating whether to get it ...

Like our regular offers & specials we only use "real" server hardware with redundant power supplies and redundant network in the First Colo datacenter in Frankfurt (FFM). Of course our DDoS protection is included for free

Mate don't wait.
I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.
That's the first one that has my finger hovering over the buy button. I think I've been spoiled in previous years where I've got 4GB+ ram, 40-100GB disk for ~$20.
Will calculate the value of HostHatch nvme later.. this looks like another winner, esp Chicago/London

BF/CM - Buyer Beware. Conduct your own due diligence on the sustainability of the deals presented here as well as the provider's track record.
For a storage offer, this is excellent. Can't fight @cociu though. He still wins on storage.

I have updates after doing two more analyses:
The revised standing:
HostHatch has come in smashing the party!

Bought HostHatch 2GB NVMe right after reading your reviews. My wallet is empty atm, do NOT add any new reviews til BF/CM end
For a North American offer it is amazing: does anyone know the server location? Their site says Canada in several places, but doesn't say where the DC is. Anyone have a test IP?
Did @cociu posted any storage yet?
Free NAT KVM | Free NAT LXC
He had a bunch of posts early on LET's Nekki thread.
Guess its gone, don't see it on the LET page. I can see
but that's not 10TB bandwidth.
10 TB bandwidth is available upon request:

@poisson Could you please also review Smarthost deal? It's under 7$
This same offer was available earlier and I reviewed it: https://lowendboxes.review/smarthost-kvm-nvme-ssd-budget-vps-flash-sale/
If he dropped the price by a dollar probably the score might hit near 200. I think you are in Asia and you can consider this if you need a powerful VPS with good speeds to Asia. See the bench.sh posted by @dahartigan

Tnx, I saw it. UltraVPS and HostHactch is winner now.
Requested for AES flag and it got approved faster than I could use the toilet
The BF loads are dying down so here's a better one, note I have been eyeing this prem VPS since beginning of the year. It's unforgettable and even more so with the price now.

will run another test mid-week after BF/CM rush
$50 if paid annual. I think there was an additional 10 percent discount code- did not use it (I know!) but if applicable, at 44.5 USD/year should be a sweet deal
blog archives
AlphaVPS had a 6 Eur/mo price-beater for that 8GB Smarthost KVM
Available in Clouvider, Hetzner-Nuremberg, and their own Sofia DCs.
4 vCPU (shared)
8GB ram
40G ssd
2TB gigabit transfer
1IPv4, /64 IPV6
DDOS protection in Nuremberg (and London I guess)
5.99 EUR/mo (WHMCS pid hasn't expired. not sure if one will get approved.)

The revised standing with PHP-Friends in it:
Deals and Reviews: LowEndBoxes Review | Avoid dodgy providers with The LEBRE Whitelist | Free hosting (with conditions): Evolution-Host, NanoKVM, FreeMach, ServedEZ | Get expert copyediting and copywriting help at The Write Flow
Yea this AlphaVPS offer probably beats SmartHost in value and possibly similar to PHP-Friends, just that it offers more vCPUs instead of PHP-Friends' much larger disk storage. I wonder if we can find out if it is still available.
