Got it Was a steal and it seems DiviExpress was praised and discussed quite frequently in the "official" Divi FB group ("Divi Theme Users"). Could download all Sections, footers, headers with 1 click. Layouts you need to manually. You can even selfhost their "website demo builder" where you can drag and drop their Sections to quickly mockup a site. You cant export from the online builder though but it will tell you the section names and you can then replicate your mockup on the actual divi install you wanna use it on self hosting the maker does not seem to have an advantage to using the one on their site except "white-label" (not the code though) in case you wanna perhaps drag and drop a site with a client.

Only purchased it the other day so haven't tested it (only downloaded all sections.zip and headers+footers) on my install yet.
Their Layouts I probably won't use much. I think most (if not all) are one-page layouts anyway.
What I see me doing with DiviExpress is, and this is basically what you said, use their "Test Drive" to prototype my page with their cool sections builder ( https://test.divi.express/build/index.html ), then note those sections down and replicate on my WP install

The above linked article on AdSense shows speed test comparison with, and without AdSense. It does slow things down. Even Google's Lighthouse "complains" about their own AdSense poor optimization. Having said that - I never got any feedback saying my websites with AdSense load slowly. And haven't noticed myself that pages load slowly, even when using a poor quality mobile network connection.
For SEO, my choice is The SEO Framework. Would say it's the least bad, or best, depends on how one looks on that.
For backups: I don't trust a plugin for backup. I wrote a few words on automated website backup tools that run on the server level. With links to the tools and/or articles explaining each in more details. My choice for now is JetBackup, since the current provider offers that (included in the price of hosting).
Which cache plugin are you using? LiteSpeed is very good - provided your hosting server "has" Litespeed. I wrote about WordPress website caching - need to add a chapter on WP Rocket. Being as good, if not just slightly better than Litespeed, but costing a lot more (i.e. not 100% free).

Here is how to migrate from practically any SEO plugin, to practically any SEO plugin: Migrating from one SEO plugin to another - using SEO Data Transporter (free plugin, that can be deinstalled and deleted after everything's been sorted out).
For changing anything on your site - the way to be "safe":
Create a backup (always have your website backups anyway - things will go bust just one hour before your next scheduled backup).
Test your backups - i.e. make sure that you can restore your site from a backup. Do it at least once, to confirm it really does work. Otherwise, you risk joining the "oh, all my work is gone" club.

Make any changes on the staging copy. Confirm that everything is OK.
Now you can push the changes on the "main" site. This goes for any updates as well - always test them on a staging website copy. Otherwise, you risk joining the "oh, this update crashed my site" club.

It should Just download your updraftplus backup from the webspace. Worst case reinstall wp and restore Updraft Backup
Or use Softaculous staging feature instead to try things.

I am still experimenting with all its features.
In practice - LiteSpeed performance is very close (at least from my testing).
In other words: if they both cost the same, or were both free ( ), I'd go with WP Rocket. Otherwise, I don't think it's worth it.

Any experience with https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpscan/ ? Looks nice, but afraid it'll hit cpu/ram a lot. Shows/checks if there is a security vulnerability for your plugins and displays warning with details if so (uses wpscan database api call for that).

Afaik you don't have to. Restoring a full Uodraft Backup also restores files and as such restores the WP version at time of backup

generally true, but best avoided in case of WP 5.6
I would suggest installing WP 5.5.3 (clean install) + Updraft Plus, and restoring the WP installation.
To the other questions/ comments about CPU/ resource intensive plugins and applications (malware detection for e.g.) Here's what I do:
Get a VPS with @ 1 GB RAM, 12-15 GB Disk space. Or shared hosting with 5 GB space atleast
*Below is mostly applicable for vps, shared you can also apply similar logic *
- Install WP (my preference is Webinoly)
- Create 2 subdomains (say test.yourdomain.tld and beta.yourdomain.tld)
- Make a backup of the live site using Updraft Plus, lets call it "backup-of-live-site-WP"
- import your current WP installation in the "test" WP install
- Test out for malware, image compression, script optimizations, security settings (including httpauth, for e.g.) etc. Maintain snapshots say after every operation just in case.
- Once you are satisfied, make a copy using Updraft plus. lets call it "Backup-of-test.yourdomain.tld"
- Using updraft plus, first restore the original WP install "backup-of-live-site-WP" onto beta.yourdomain.tld.
- Now, overwrite it with "Backup-of-test.yourdomain.tld". This will be a simulation of what you may do actually on the main install. But, you are overwriting a clone of the live site with your "Backup-of-test.yourdomain.tld" version. So if anything breaks, it breaks on the beta and not the live site.
- Once staisfied, you can overwrite the live site with the modified/ ugraded version.
Takes about an hour or so depending on the complexity of your site. But I would recommend giving it a try.

If you are going to use a VPS, then I would also suggest installing jpegoptim to compress the images in case you do not have Shortpixel or similar.
I am cautiously also playing around with database optimization / compression plugins to reduce overall WP installation size. At a minimum it deletes post revisions. You can retain them if you like. I do not.

For what it's worth: After trying many different plugins to remove Google Fonts References (hello GDPR) a 4 year old plugin worked:

@vyas there are lots of cool Lifetime Deals for Elementor templates/extensions but there's usually the yearly sub you or your clients would have to be willing to pay year after year for Pro to really get the worth out of them. Prefer Divi in the way that its' license is setup & forget.

Was a steal and it seems DiviExpress was praised and discussed quite frequently in the "official" Divi FB group ("Divi Theme Users"). Could download all Sections, footers, headers with 1 click. Layouts you need to manually. You can even selfhost their "website demo builder" where you can drag and drop their Sections to quickly mockup a site. You cant export from the online builder though but it will tell you the section names and you can then replicate your mockup on the actual divi install you wanna use it on 
self hosting the maker does not seem to have an advantage to using the one on their site except "white-label" (not the code though) in case you wanna perhaps drag and drop a site with a client.

UpdraftPlus has served me well. With HM JetBackups to remote and their daily backips was all I needed but I moved one of my sites to Mike and decided to use UpdraftPlus for it. Works like a charm for WP installs.

Which cache plugin are you using? LiteSpeed is very good - provided your hosting server "has" Litespeed. I wrote about WordPress website caching - need to add a chapter on WP Rocket. Being as good, if not just slightly better than Litespeed, but costing a lot more (i.e. not 100% free).

If you are on a LiteSpeed server, think there's not much speed to be gained from WP Rocket - so in that case it's not worth it (IMO). But if not - it's probably the best (and very beginner friendly) caching solution.

Since UpdraftPlus just wraps everything in zip/archive you'd just have to extraft the db on your PC manually, then try importing it in phpmyadmin if restore doesn't work via the plugin. Always test your Backups though

Any experience with https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpscan/ ? Looks nice, but afraid it'll hit cpu/ram a lot. Shows/checks if there is a security vulnerability for your plugins and displays warning with details if so (uses wpscan database api call for that).

I never have those experience, all I do is reinstall wordpress manualy or reinstall wordpress from softaculous, the first plugin I install is updraft plus, upload the backup then restore, all will be handled by updraftplus, and your old site will be back

Afaik you don't have to. Restoring a full Uodraft Backup also restores files and as such restores the WP version at time of backup

I would suggest installing WP 5.5.3 (clean install) + Updraft Plus, and restoring the WP installation.
To the other questions/ comments about CPU/ resource intensive plugins and applications (malware detection for e.g.) Here's what I do:
*Below is mostly applicable for vps, shared you can also apply similar logic *
- Install WP (my preference is Webinoly)
- Create 2 subdomains (say test.yourdomain.tld and beta.yourdomain.tld)
- Make a backup of the live site using Updraft Plus, lets call it "backup-of-live-site-WP"
- import your current WP installation in the "test" WP install
- Test out for malware, image compression, script optimizations, security settings (including httpauth, for e.g.) etc. Maintain snapshots say after every operation just in case.
- Once you are satisfied, make a copy using Updraft plus. lets call it "Backup-of-test.yourdomain.tld"
- Using updraft plus, first restore the original WP install "backup-of-live-site-WP" onto beta.yourdomain.tld.
- Now, overwrite it with "Backup-of-test.yourdomain.tld". This will be a simulation of what you may do actually on the main install. But, you are overwriting a clone of the live site with your "Backup-of-test.yourdomain.tld" version. So if anything breaks, it breaks on the beta and not the live site.
- Once staisfied, you can overwrite the live site with the modified/ ugraded version.
Takes about an hour or so depending on the complexity of your site. But I would recommend giving it a try.
