Started out last week with a $20/yr box for personal use apps. Think I can get a better deal here and around BF. Budget for hobby use $5-7 a month. Want to chat about optimizing performance out of low spec too.
How did you discover lowendspirit and do you have any extra information you would like to add e.g. interests, hobbies etc.
Got here through Reddit. I do DevOps with cloud so this is like a job but smaller scale. I like automated portable deployments.

I'm Franco. I work on channel partnerships at Zenlayer, a US-based edge
cloud running VPS and bare metal, mostly in places the usual providers skip
— Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City, Lima, Bogota. I'm joining
to read and take part, not to advertise. I want to understand how people
here judge providers outside the usual US/EU options, and I have latency and
benchmark data from those regions I'm happy to share when it's relevant.
I've read the rules: I know a provider tag is required before posting
anything for sale, and I won't post offers before I have one.
How did you discover lowendspirit and do you have any extra information you would like to add e.g. interests, hobbies etc.
I found LES while going through LowEndTalk and LowEndBox threads — a few
links pointed here, and I liked that the discussions are smaller and more
technical. Outside work I tinker with homelab setups and do a lot of route
and latency testing between Asian regions, which is honestly half hobby and
half job. I also follow the Chinese-language VPS community closely, so I
notice when a provider is well known in one language community and
completely unheard of in another.

I'd drive — not because of the distance, but because the car needs to
actually be at the car wash. Walking there would leave it sitting in my
driveway. I'd walk back home while it's being washed and get the sun then.

我会选择步行去。因为距离只有100米，走路几分钟就到了，而且今天是晴天，已经很久没感受到阳光了，正好可以晒晒太阳，顺便活动一下。开车的话反而麻烦
