I'm glad you posted this here, I saw the megathread in LET, didn't get through all of it but saw one post where they were saying they're going to start advertising outside of LET, so good to spread the word far and wide about what's happening, do you have a summary for anyone who was late to the issue
onidel - 🇦🇺🇳🇱🇸🇬🇻🇳🇺🇸 - High Availability - Hourly Billing - API support - BGP/BYOIP - SEV-SNP
Can someone post on WHT?
So glad I didn't end up getting anything from them.
Yes.
They illegally obtained the clients from Velox. Once called out for committing fraud, ignoring gdpr regulations and what not they went bonkers and started threatening to terminate users .
They're still illegally trading as Velox so beware.
Make sure to chargeback asap.
Edit:
Its now 'owned' by VeloxMedia Inc, VeloxMedia LLc and BentHost inc. They/He claims to be a 12M company, own dc lots of infra but won't disclose any info. Following the trail youll encounter a lot of smoke and mirrors.
12M IDR (Indonesian rupiahs) = 713 USD which is totally doable.
Basement DC with a total of 5 or 6 old obsolite desktops acting as servers is also possible.
Seems like a legit claim to me

That's why never buy from host(s) creating too much hype and offering nonstop giveaways, especially during BF.
Have you tried turning it off and on again? We bought the 52% off VPS on Christmas.

Should we worry?

At least he sounded like he writes what he says and not using a lot of buzz words.

Do they offer a complimentary RIP tag to deadpool hosts ?

Only if you can prove we can trust you with that RIP tag.

It has been more than obvious that this host will deadpool.
I do not feel bad for people that got "scammed" one bit, they deserved it, greed has poisoned their logical thinking.
64GB ram and 8 cores for 8 pound, sure bro. And then they expect similar pricing from other hosts after a deadpool, learning absolutely nothing from their mistakes.
I've been buying "lowend" offers from reputable hosts for years, and I'm yet to get scammed by any of them. People have expectations up their ass, less and less reputable hosts will be offering discounts because they will be labeled too "premium" and people would rather buy unsustainable deal from a noname host and cry when it deadpools.

I've yet to see anything like this in my inbox. Maybe because I bought before BF?
Maybe... But be prepared to move out sooner or later
I actually opened a ticket, and they confirmed I am good.
Though my location may be changed.
Thanks for posting this. We set this notice to a small percentage of the previous owners customers. We have full intention to keep all the rest of the services as well as provide a bunch of additional services.
There's a couple people who seem to have a vengeance from the beginning of all this and just don't seem to understand what all is going on.
We're fully committed to the company and in the past couple weeks have made massive steps to ensure everything is done correctly. We're properly registered in the USA, registered with the ICO, fully GDPR compliant and everything. In the coming weeks we'll be launching our new Datacenters that have all our owned hardware and networking equipment.
Keep an eye out and stay tuned for all thats to come with the new Velox Media inc
@Veloxmedia has only been approved on the basis that people have concerns in this thread and I was open to letting them answer
They are not allowed to, and very likely will never have the ability to post offers here due to everything documented across LE forums, but not all of it is directly documented here so if you have questions / accusations and evidence please bring it up in this thread.
Any evidence to suggest rule breaking or illegal activity will result in the instant ban of the above account after reviewing and confirming.

Thanks!!! If anyone has any accusations or evidence or anything bring it up. There's a lot of misinformation and no evidence. We're not selling anything just helping to give proper information to people so they can understand.
Months down the road it'll become clear that we're still in business and large client base.
If you haven't gotten anything yet you're good
I'm not involved in this in anyway but I have a question if you will. You say you're fully GDPR compliant. I was under the impression that GDPR would have made acquiring the customer base as you did very difficult if not impossible. Is that impression incorrect and if so how?
Can you share the facts for all this? How it was illegal, whats fraud, what gdpr regulation is ignored? How we're illegally trading?
Aren't you the one dumping all our Discord? I've posted multiple photos of our DC and some machines we're working. Even photos of top of the line 128GB DDR5 server ram I left in my bag in Vegas.
Can we stick to facts here?
Again this shit host makes people or at least me stressful. I don't care who you are behind the scene. Veloxmedia brand itself does.
It seems the problem is no one seems to care to check company details before buying. Apparently people are just buying from anyone with a website.
Would you feel less stressful if we renamed the new company something else? Not sure how that makes a difference. The point in keeping the existing customers running was to keep the old company name.
The hardware looks rented to me, not owned. Do you post things from benthost?
We're working on moving services to our hardware. It's a process. We're still waiting on our ASN which we need before we're able to announce our IPs.
We're not in any rush to get things migrated and want to do it right. We should have 2 US east DCs opened in the next 2 weeks.
The reason we got into lower end hosting is because we're big in enterprise hosting and basically get hardware for free with all the licensing/warranty/support.
We'll still keep a lot of the rented hardware with established relationships and long term commitments, especially in regions we don't have a footprint. Our goal is to expand services and offerings.
We're also learning what the market actually wants and will use new sales data to determine where to expand. But I feel lowest price is more important than location. For example electric costs in the US west is 2-3x as much as in the east, and other than IP and support our highest cost is electricity, not hardware.
Can you give a name of the enterprise hosting?

Our companies are siloed. Velox Media inc operates as a separate entity as does all the others. Private companies aren't requires or encouraged to disclosed specific business relationships. I'd love to know who all is involved in OpenAI and actually pulling the strings but its normal to keep that info private.
Do you ask this same information with the other providers or are we just singled out here? Ever since I learned about low end hosting I've noticed a theme, there seems to be no care for any due diligence then once one provider provides anything its an attack. We've provided all proper registrations and all have been verified, yet it seems no other provider has been requested of this.
I'm happy to give all the information required and it seems I've given much more than any other provider. We 3 weeks old and have more accreditations verifications than anyone else it seems. We're STILL waiting on these verifications from a few of our hosting providers which we've asked day 1, and their our vendors.
Do you have services with us? Did you have them? How are/were they? What's the status of them? Care to share some info about your experiences with everyone?
VeloxMedia took my money and did not provide the service as expected for a whole year. VeloxMedia is an exit scam operation - I do not recommend them. RUN AWAY!

Its for my own security, money wont be spend on beginners hosting stage. A minimum of 5 years in the market is a must to be aknowledged by me.
Isn't private same as sole trader? Whatever, we will see in the future and how its success.
The OpenAI Foundation owns 26%, Microsoft owns 27%, various employees and investors own 47%.
The names of the members of the board is listed on the website.
https://openai.com/our-structure/
So the service was great for a while? Did you chargeback?
How are you verifying the 5 years?
No we're a corporation registered in the US. Completely different than han a single person sole trader. Only difference between us and a public corporation is we don't need to disclose financial data to the public as our shareholders are private.
It's the 47% that I'm concerned with and we don't know. They're an oddball because they took over a non-profit and now is for-profit with a bunch of very sketchy stuff in the background. Nonprofit must list board members and structure as well as financial information.
When one of your selling points is that your "big in enterprise hosting", it doesn't seem hugely unreasonable to ask you to back that up.
If you're not willing to reveal the "big enterprise" provider you claim to be a part of, why bring it up?
This question might have been missed
Best and friendliest hosts Host-C , Hostbrr aff.
We're explaining how we have a huge competitive advantage and our pricing will reflect this.
It's not a selling point and we don't have it listed anywhere. We're not even actively promoting or selling right now.
It's not at all difficult. What would make it difficult?
There's a lot of misunderstanding with GDPR and a lot of people seem to like to misread the requirements to make an issue that isn't there. I'm not an expert on GDPR so don't handle this side of things but we have in house council and hired GDPR specialized legal council to ensure we're fully compliant. If any issues you can file a formal complaint with us on our ICO listing as we're properly registered with them.
Note, it seems most other providers aren't registered with the ICO
What is your ICO registration number?
And when will you fix the website so links are clickable and don't just pop up with a contact form?
Michael from DragonWebHost & OnePoundEmail
Here it is. https://ico.org.uk/ESDWebPages/Entry/ZC072447
Our web team is working on the site. We kicked them off editing prod as they kept causing issues (we never let them edit live sites but this was a rush) I just messaged them to get this fixed in live. I think our cache updates every 4 hours so should be fixed in 4.5 hours or so.
How many other providers have you asked for their ICO registration number?
