(Quote) Yeah, the GPUs deals are very good, especially if you're into Strata

(Quote) Very nice! Are you putting them on bf sale this year? :)
-
(Quote) The pricing is reasonable, given the specs and electricity costs. You can do a lot with a single gpu I've used variants (lower ram) of both tesla cards locally in the past. They're both quite usable. You can buy used cards to run …

Calibernode has an ad on here for $15/yr with code, does that count?

(Quote) That's definitely stress testing. Hopefully it didn't involve too much time or money. (Quote) Not sure if all the tokens are fungible. But, maybe only allow accounts to accept non public/admin tokens 30+ days after their first pai…

(Quote) That's fair. Those are clearcut examples of "riff-raff". Customers who do that are clear abusers and should rightfully be banned from the providers' services. But, some providers categorize customers as "riff-raff&q…

Seems like a common issue at the low end. Not all, but a few obvious providers want the low end $, but not the low end customers. I think if time is put aside as part of continuous operational improvement, providers could develop healthy businesses.

That’s nice of you

(Quote) Assuming you're talking about FreeDOS (pops up on unrelated searches once in a while), web servers are available (haven't tried), so you can't escape the internet (sorry).

(Quote) OGF mentioned that prices increased, seems like that's the case.

(Quote) What would you have used instead of tailwind?

I always thought something like this could benefit open source projects that need decentralization. Are there such projects? I've only scanned linuxtracker.org and they seem to have a very high seeder ratio.

(Quote) Does it have to be polite?

(Quote) They’re a few years old, but I’ve read very positive reviews for them. Given the specs in the offering, I assume it’s not mainly because of the hardware and bandwidth? Does anyone have long term services that can comment on their experience?

Is the downvoted ban permanent? Wonder how much time is needed for people to give a provider a second (third, fourth, ...) chance in these types of scenarios. I was not and never plan to be one of their customers, so my interest is just out of curi…

I agree with that. C-Servers seem to be under active development and expansion. Will have to see if I want to try another provider. I’ve tried a bunch of smaller providers. Some end up being idlers and end up being cancelled after the initial perio…

This discussion certainly generated a lot of comments. My take is that the problem isn't that KYC is now required, it's that its wasn't required before accepting payment and providing services and it is now required without a simple …

The claim number hit 1000 already? That was quick

That’s a good price. Does the server have IPMI? Is the price recurring? Is the 1g connection shared?

Is the free upgrade automatic or a ticket required after its ordered? Never mind, just saw the other thread (post with order # to receive free upgrade)

Is the promo code supposed to work with the deals?

(Quote) I agree, timing a purchase to gain extra time on months is a win-win for Pulsed Media and the buyer. Only spent a second at a time to scan for the new seedbox drop, but I did notice a drop of 1-3 claims in between some of my revisits. My c…

(Quote) I agree that trying to land on a certain claim # or range would be a goal for some people. You have a good approach to market and gain interest. (Quote) I took a look at the The Eternal Väinämöinen page a few times in a day to see if the ne…

(Quote) These are some high level points: * Ads, donations, sponsorships, and/or digital sales are probably needed if one of the goals is to be as self-sustaining as possible. I feel for a small team operation for a primarily community service, Rev…

I received a free Hetzner dedicated server transfer from another member (from the OGF) who was kind enough to offer it, so I decided to pay it forward with this server. I'm offering this for free to any OG / long term member who would like thi…

I don't know MikePT and never used his services, so I'm looking at this from an outside perspective. But, I have seen his posts over the years in the OGF and haven't heard of any issues that I know of. So let's put this into pe…
