USB Thumb drives, flash disks, USB sticks whatever you call them locally, cheap prices in bulk?

Hey.

I have a little idea (Don't worry, I am not starting LES Merchandise) its just a personal project, but I could do with a few hundred, eventually a few thousand USB thumb drives. Physical shape and size are not important as I will probably de-shell them anyway.

But it seems to be pretty hard to get a lot of them in bulk cheaply; I only need like 1 GB- 4 GB, a few 8s, maybe a few 16's maximum, nothing bigger.

I have already been through the usual suspects; the best price for a minimum order of 50 I have found is around $1.18 on alibabababababa with around $10 shipping

I need them to end up in the UK so that is also a consideration.

Anyone know of any new-old stock or even 2nd hand bulk stuff?

Maybe the wrong place to ask but why not eh.

I doubt you will find anywhere cheaper than alibaba. If it helps and if it's cheaper or easier logistics wise, try finding sellers which already have a warehouse in EU. The second option is to check ebay everyday and wait for someone selling second hand bulk you mentioned.

I tried to check Amazon.co.uk, but I no longer have a EU proxy so it wanted me to enter a postcode and I didn't care enough to find one.

eBay is likely your best bet. Keep in mind a lot of those lower sized fobs are going to be USB 1.1 possibly USB 2. I have an 8 gig USB one fob that I used to hand out to people who annoyed me. It would take minutes to copy a PowerPoint onto it.
