Which is your Cache strategy for wordpress in 2026? ( I know It s wordpress in 2026 )
Some "new" players like flying press VS the classic cache plugins with Redis memcached etc. Which is your preference today ?

I believe in good luck. Harder that I work ,luckier i get.

  • LSCache backed by Redis, with a number of path overrides set, and then with a few caching rules in Cloudflare (applied across a few hundred sites)

  • Still using WP Super Cache. I used Redis for awhile but had issues with it caching stale data, so I stopped using that.

Litespeed cache plugin on a Litespeed server that also provides Redis cache (and Litespeed plugin can be configured to use it).

    Not using it.

It's amazing that a product can become so bloated, yet remain ubiquitous. The job's WP is Super Cache and whatever proprietary setup WP Engine is using. It's obnoxious and slow, but at least it's unmaintainable!

And I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords.

The WordPress sites I manage are almost static, so I don't use any plugin but nginx FastCGI caching instead and when required Amazon Cloudfront configured with full page caching. Cloudfront's limits for the permanently free tier are large enough that my monthly bill has stayed at 0 for more than one year.

Thanks for the feedback . How do you create a static copy? Vía the static plugin like ( Simply Static – The Static Site Generator) from the wp plugins área or another alternative ways? Interesting option about the cloudfront. I must check It as well. Thanks for the feedback

  • Code your own cache plugin (yes, using llm) . With some basic hygiene using wp-cli and cron ?

My idea was to create a custom
Stripped down version of caching plugin rather than depending on a third party.
LLM listed the different features of caching plugin, and sorted them as must and optional. If the optional tasks can be done using wp-cli instead of plugin, a lightweight plugin would serve the purpose.

    wp-cli (col.2) versus caching plugin (col.3)

So I was actually arguing with Gemini and chatGPT to create my own custom plugin. But then the php issue occurred and now I am upgrading servers. So the idea has been put on hold for now

On separate note, I thought the below 👇
Chart was quite helpful for my understanding. It shows different types of caching and their purpose of life

    Caching
