EU Inc: start an EU company in 48 hours for under €100
With EU Inc you register once through an EU-level portal, pay less than €100, and need no minimum share capital. The company runs fully digitally, you pick which EU country to incorporate in, and winding it down gets simpler and cheaper. National employment and social law still applies in the country of registration.
It is still a proposal. The Commission wants Parliament and Council to agree on it by the end of 2026.

Another plastic cap, from europe council. They don't realise by creating a new law to 'help', they create even more red tape. Abolishing laws in countries help reducing burocratism not by adding a new european layer of laws.

It's only 75€ to register at the chamber of commerce in Italy, how convenient.
Plus 4400 €/year in minimum social security tax that does not scale down in consideration of your income, and has no objection to being higher than your income. Plus 800€ / year in accounting fees for the simplest form of legal entity to be managed. Plus VAT between B2B transactions. Plus income tax. Plus 40 other tiny nameless taxes scattered around the paperwork that coalesce into a double-digit Beowulf tax rate.
Hey but then you run a legit start-up! Tiny condo, 15-yo utility car, and no proper heating in winter, but you are an EU businessman, albeit one that makes less than a public employee and can go to jail for misfiling paperwork.
White collars in the jail of Florence pick up beans from the prison farm at 3€ / hour if anyone is looking for career advice.

yeah, its like self punishment having a self employed business here in europe. It was good for a while in netherlands, but its getting worse as selfemployed workers are dealt with almost the same amount of paperwork as big companies. kyc customers, co2 footprint, DEI policies, one client per year not allowed, etc....

The easiest way for government to gain free money without doing hard work. But hey, you can register where you want.
Estonia started e-residency then killed with new rules. I think LLC in USA a much better option
BTW I'm not kidding, white collars at the Florence jail (not the infamous ADX Florence Supermax ...) make 3€ / hour harvesting vegetables within the barbed fence of the jail, this publicly-funded blog claims it was 2.5€ / hour 10 years ago: https://www.repubblica.it/solidarieta/diritti-umani/2016/03/10/news/carceri-135191074/
Frankly it's not a good career path, in California the unemployed don't have to go to jail to live in a subsidized bungalow for $30 / month, and they get a Visa card for groceries that recharges each month for free. They're only lacking a free Tesla IMHO, but it's an acceptable lifestyle tier: lots of free time for friends and leisure, no stressful responsibilities, no employer or job schedule, free groceries, and lots of discretionary promiscuity and pot, because that's how they earn under the table.
Why open a company in the EU, with the risk of ending up in Florence picking zucchini or having the car impounded for failing to keep up with taxes, when you can be pleasantly poor in California.

NO!
fuck the eu!
As usual, it's the government rent-seeking the working society to fund whatever they want. The barely worn-out road that kept getting repaired for no reason. Funding extravagant school amenities, yet teacher's wage barely increased. And other kind of earmarks for project that makes you think "How the fuck this proposal receives funding".
Meanwhile, no means to end street crimes
Fraud will be easier than ever. EU ID or passport doesn't mean anything anymore, all you need is an inflatable boat to get one.
Abolishing the actual EU would help too
