(Quote) Yes, I am currently in this state with HostedTalk 's equivalent of the 'pit'. Currently I see 2082 unread . I took a break before the whole corona lockdown, and part of me instinctively knows at least a couple of months of pos…

Unrelated to AMS, BUT I am now a superFan of the Breeze panel. I've yet to have a more seamless error-free experience with a panel for the usual bread-and-butter tasks (iso mount, unmount and the associated Power cycles, full-color VNC). I was…

TBH, question 4 was too much to parse in my current brain state. Forums are a bit of a formal venue in 2020. I would only make a new Vanilla discussion if it warranted engagement from more than 3-4 members. (say a rare deal, cool new shiny thing) …

What kind of RAM are you using? MDadm software raid1 if you're using desktop non-ecc ram. If you have plenty of ECC ram (like 6-8gb excess), ZFS mirrors are pretty nice.

So, the best time to refer a new friend is the 1st of the month?

(Quote) Yikes. I haven't used WordPress personally in a decade. I didn't even know they bolted on a search engine.

It looks quite likely I will be deep diving into wordpress performance optimization this week. Any free load-testing services still? (multi location simulator, different latency clients) Loadimpact seems to require signup now. I guess I don't…

(Quote) Here we go, for the curious. Looks like everything is travelling the full ZFS access path/stack. 1 x Full Random read test with 128k blocksize : ./fio --randrepeat=1 --ioengine=libaio --direct=1 --gtod_reduce=1 --name=test --filename=test -…

Maybe they will run gigantic Matrix.org servers like Freenode. :)

Bobs get lonely. (and unstable) Is there a 1 backup Bob free with every Bob ?

That reminds me. I need to go check up on my ultravps instance. I'm curious to see how much of that 2 week old 4GB test file I created, is still present in the Host Node's ZFS ARC(ram). 5GB/s reads are a dead giveaway(even on nvme storage…

(Quote) Hah. I'll get some cdn bunnys instead. I was just intrigued by this project I'd never checked out. https://traffic-control-cdn.readthedocs.io/en/latest/admin/quick_howto/ciab.html I never got past paragraph 1 last night.

This seems like the week for running your own CDN.

At first, I thought the pricing was a little too 'dear' for AMS. But debaser's comment reminded me it's 10G goodies. Generous 2TB on the entry plan too

I got a Credit Card and linked my Paypal to it, just to have the $15/yr ovz-128 legally in my name. Congratulations on the decade Fran.

The Server.it benchmark was useful to me. I was quite curious about it personally. A nice little 'selfhosted' hobby box for a small number of logged-in users.

And if you are using Proxmox pve-zsync for schedled/adhoc ZFS backups, it has the " --limit VALUE " option. https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/PVE-zsync
