(Quote) Many of the Hostloc folks deserve to be massively trolled for the chargeback havoc they have wreaked on good providers over the years.
-
If you used the HOSTLOC50 code, I think that was meant to troll the Hostloc cheapskates. Master stroke. $35.02 - (-$17.51) = $35.02 + $17.51 = $52.53. Mathematically correct.

(Quote) We have a ton of interesting expressions in Singlish. You can pass off as a Singaporean next time when you go drinking with one and tell him not to drink too much or else he will do a Merlion.
-
(Quote) Don't drive him out of business so early! We need reliable providers to hang around for a long time!

(Quote) The Merlion is indeed one of the icons of Singapore. Also, in Singlish (Singaporean English), you will do a Merlion if you drink too much at a pub (you can look at the image to imagine what I mean).

(Quote) Technically yes because I am in academia.

As a Singaporean, I welcome @MaxKVM landing in Singapore one day after our nation's 55th birthday and I hope you will be staying with us to celebrate more of our nation's birthday! Side question: is the .edu discount recurring?

One of my mikho NAT VPS is used for maintaining a reverse SSH tunnel providing fail-safe option to my PC in my office (it's behind a corporate NAT) ever since having to work from home. Sometimes the GUI crashes on the computer and RDP programs …

Happy birthday @AnthonySmith

Happy Birthday Fran! Another 10 more good years at least!

(Quote) You need to be sure that there are no applications listening on the ports. If you are no good at sysadmin stuff, I rather you setup a firewall. If something you need isn't working, you open the required port. Other stuff is automaticall…

(Quote) You missed out on quoting the word "apparently". Obviously I know.

Here are the details about Apple's roadmap to move away from Intel: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2020/06/this-is-apples-roadmap-for-moving-the-first-macs-away-from-intel/ I am quoting a few paragraphs which I think are interesting. First, o…

(Quote) Not trying to get published in a peer-reviewed journal doesn't mean not treating the study design seriously. You don't want to waste time or money. Just saying.

(Quote) The point is not to stress test. That's easy. The goal is to simulate a "natural" experiment (in a true natural experiment, the participants don't know they are part of the experiment so this proposal lies midway between …

(Quote) Frankly, there is no way to get generalizable results because in the first place, you will not get a probability sample for your participants. So, yes, this is a fun test and the results will be indicative but not predictive.

(Quote) One machine per license. You can install as many times, as long as it is one license on one machine for each unique license.

Ok, let me bring some research and statistical expertise to the table. First up, there are too many confounders (think of them as alternative explanations) that can influence perceptions of performance (which seems to be what we are measuring). I d…

Oversold to 4X idling customers will just skew the results. Just saying.

(Quote) Not sure why people in the other forum are all up in arms. This is a legitimate website as far as I can tell.

(Quote) I keep it muzzled in a VM.

Ok> @AnthonySmith said: (Quote) Nope, but we can probably do a guesstimate.

Looking good. I am not sure if I missed it, but where can we see the site stats for the main lowendspirit site? I am interested to track the growth versus LEB. The content is definitely way better.

I use Authy. I have Authy on phone and multiple computers, including one set up on a VM and I keep a backup of the VM in multiple places as my worst case scenario. If everything else crashes, I can just download and spin up the VM to add new devices.

Brenter looks like one of the best things to have happened after Brexit and Covid. Based on past evidence, we can expect to see many Brenterers soon enough. Make Britain Great Britain again!

TNA Hosting still has it. Half the bandwidth and $10 per month.

I am really glad I snagged a Windscribe lifetime. Their ephemeral port forwarding works really well (one week) and I don't have to pay extra for a permanent IP just to have a static port that is open.

+1 for MrVM @mikho
