(Quote) You would need to boot into recovery mode and reset the root password. Then log in via console.

Seeing a new IP for AMSD028, but no networking yet.
-
(Quote) Good one. My parents have all family pictures on a 10-year old USB NAS drive. 😬
-
Just did an ad-hoc update on PikaPods to fix an issue with adding YABs benchmarks raised by @alento . Happy to have dedicated users, who push for improvements.
-
Umami is the most popular one on PikaPods: https://www.pikapods.com/pods?run=umami
-
(Quote) Each pod server has its own ipv4 and ipv6 IP. You could look it up using dig and your pod hostname.
-
(Quote) I already have an open issue to add wallets at some point. Maybe later in autumn.
-
(Quote) I put them in our monthly newsletter now. Together with featured apps. Do expect the summer months to be a bit slower in terms of development. Mostly setting up and improving automation processes where they were missing. Then more new featu…

Borg+Borgmatic FTW! And Vorta on the desktop. Since you guys are asking: Here a slightly more comprehensive and strategic take on it: https://docs.borgbase.com/strategy/ 😊

Some more exciting news to share: * The long-awaited Hong Kong region is now available. Just choose "HK" when adding a new pod. In addition to EU and US. And some notable new apps added this week: * Fider: For collecting customer feedba…

(Quote) Hey, just saw this. Still an issue? I disabled NS caching a few days ago. So even if you change nameservers, it should pick up the changes pretty fast.
-
(Quote) Agree. Will be added.
-
No worries. You can use it later. They don't expire. If someone wants more testing credits, they'll get it anyways.
-
Thanks for the nice offer. Didn't see an order number and server seems active already. Anyways, here the Invoice #1427174. 👏
-
(Quote) Yeah, I'd like to have that too. Currently looking into using Prometheus or cAdvisor for this. Just don't want to add too much overhead.
-
(Quote) I’ll probably add it for manual top-ups. The survey also showed some demand for it and on BorgBase it makes up about a quarter to a third of transactions.
-
(Quote) Maybe later. Not a big fan for different reasons. So trying without at first.
-
(Quote) Already there under Account > Billing. But this view needs adding billing details (but NOT a payment method) to show up in full. I’ll probably add an option to skip adding the payment method or use a coupon instead to make this more clear.
-
(Quote) It's in Boston, MA. Same DC that already hosts BorgBase.com. Hong Kong will follow shortly. Server is already ordered, but waiting for parts. Those 3 regions should cover most users pretty well. So no plans to add more for now.
-
(Quote) I enabled the new US region for everyone about an hour ago. You should see it enabled after reloading the site. Enjoy!
-
I already disabled all accounts that never even started a pod. Asked them to send in an email, if they still plan on using their credit. Only a few responded. So I assume those were mostly hoarder accounts. Some were waiting for other regions or did…
-
(Quote) Correct. Just add a payment method to show you are a real person. No actual payment needed. Will add a third EU server today and US should go online any day now. Just missing its data drives.
-
Had to close the beta early after someone posted about it on a Chinese forum. 🙈 So it's $5 free starting credit and max 2 pods for free users now. And you can't use a disposable email or proxy to sign up (happened a LOT for those users).…
-
(Quote) Yeah, I reduce it to $20 a few weeks ago after the first test server got full. Still generous. Can't update the title here, so sorry for the confusion. Just found out that I can edit the title. The beta will probably finish next week wh…

(Quote) There is already double confirmation for deleting a pod. Thinking of changing this from the slider to typing the name, as most other sites do. Stopping is pretty harmless, so no confirmation for now. Maybe I'm also misunderstanding the …

Few new apps added today: * Monica: personal CRM * Metabase: business intelligence dashboard * Mealie: organize recipes

(Quote) For now I'm trying to keep all settings in env vars. For some apps you can pass settings with them and it's the best way for containers. In most cases the container will set up a config file based on env vars internally (which is l…
-
(Quote) Good idea! I can get this data via the existing stats. Can also be useful to debug unstable containers.
-
(Quote) Understand the potential problem. Many apps already allow you to add SMTP details. E.g. Listmonk, a Mailchimp alternative has it in the UI. Bookstack has it in the .env file (which we populate during container creation). For Nextcloud the co…

Ah, got it. No, that’s not a goal. There are already solutions for that. Like Portainer.

(Quote) We don't have many PHP apps and if so, we use the projects Docker image. So can't mess with PHP settings. While we could somehow resell email traffice, I don't think that's a good market to get into. Many others already d…

(Quote) Just ordered the first server in HK. 🤗 Should be ready in a few days. BYOVM would mean to run custom Docker images in this case? This feature was much-requested in our survey, but I'll skip it for now because it would mean a totally d…

(Quote) Thanks! BYOYM?

(Quote) There is already an icon next to rev share apps, but no tag filter. Not sure if someone wanted to filter for this. It's more informational, same as apps that need payment verification first (anything that can run code; keeps out crypto …
-
(Quote) Yes, the most used apps on Pika. Not real time for now.
-
(Quote) Oops. Put the class on the wrong tag. Back to green now. (Quote) Not a terrible idea really. Let me reflect on it for a bit.
-
(Quote) Also true. Was planning that already.
-
(Quote) Agreed. Changed it to a simple icon instead of the color.
-
Tags are now up. Hope it's useful: https://www.pikapods.com/apps
-
Done with the auto-recharge feature. And deployed a new server for PhotoPrism only, since that's pretty CPU-intensive. Up next is the filtering/app tags.
-
(Quote) Literally my other todo for the day. 😄 I'll add category tags first to find photo, wiki, monitoring, etc apps quickly. And a tag for popular apps, as you say. Roughly this UI of on/off tags: (Image)
-
Thanks for testing and sharing your thoughts, everyone! 🙌🤗 (Quote) Would be best to allow adding one's own email service. I think Bookstack keeps it in some config/env file. Will make sure this is accessible and persistent. (Quote) Planning…
-
Finished implementing the payment system with some adjustments based on the feedback I got: There is now a pre-paid option with credits and optional auto recharges. All feedback still welcome. 😀 Will move on to updating a few apps now.
-
(Quote) I test updates before updating all pods. So there will be a few days of delay between the announcement and your pod running on the new version. It’s not automatic and likely won’t be in the future. On the upside you get better stability comp…
-
(Quote) Already planned. And tags to filter.
-
(Quote) Yes, it’s only $20 since a few weeks and we’ll switch to live payments in a few days. If you still want more credits for testing, PM me your account email and I’ll add the difference for you.
-
(Quote) Every pod is separate, even if they belong to the same customer. This allows for easy migrations and using specialized hardware for some apps. Like high-storage, high-CPU, etc.
-
(Quote) Good idea. Vuetify even got a OTP field since I implemented this. Will add one or the other. (Quote) Stripe charges $0.25 fixed fee. I'll probably do pre-paid only with optional automatic top-ups of (which makes it similar to post-paid…

(Quote) First thing I did. 😄 For now backups are at the server-level, but we're looking to add this as add-on and make on-demand snapshots and restores available at the pod level. More here.
