(Quote) No I don't want to even be reminded of such vampiric names! Souls demoted to hell should stay confined in hell and not emerge from the underworld!

(Quote) IMHO showing the placeholder is the correct default and the preferred choice for most users, for the reason you explain. Just that my own preference is different and I'd rather not be unpleasantly reminded of blocked people. Blocking ca…

The "ignored user post" placeholder between posts could be configurable to not appear. Don't know where the optimal place for this setting should be, but possibly even on the placeholder itself in absence of a better place.

My high school had 1200 students across all its classes, of which only 2 were girls, and both were in a different department from mine. Among all the incentives that the place gives, only a couple of dudes were fags, but they didn't know each o…

(Quote) It sounded like LowEndTalk drama-making which I'm hoping to leave behind, so that was my downvote.

There are other italian companies using Stripe and not asking for ID cards. Assuming it is mandatory for you to collect customers' IDs, why only some customers are affected?

Which instances run on Ryzen or Epyc?

(Quote) I filed an F24 for crypto once and yes compiling it was remarkably bastard, in a southern/eastern-European, lack-of-normative-clarity, mongoloid-government kind of way, but it wasn't impossible in hindsight. I wrote a nodejs program for…

(Quote) Does anyone truly care if a customer registers with personal name QQQ123? Fake names trigger about half of the Stripe frauds detected during payment, I think, but not the other half, and no one seems to care about the good half that pass. Af…

Wouldn't it be cool to have public stats for ads? Maybe a page of tabulated stats or a mouse-hoover tooltip for each ad tile.
-
Actually the ad got 4 clicks in 12 hours, measured by referer: 1 from www.lowendspirit.com and 3 from lowendspirit.com. The past few days have got little to no sales, weekends in general are worse than weekdays for VPS sales. Mornings are terrible t…

(Quote) It's not dead yet, its leg pumps are gone, lithium battery is on fire, but it's still holding its position in an 80mm mortar pit next to the vodka factory. It would be terrific and cool to see footage like this coming from the fron…

My ad got 1 click thru the last 12 hours =)

Need to buy the 4x4 space to upload this: (Image)

The blinking ads are so annoying to be frank that mine should be the only obnoxious one allowed :P But... maybe gif animations should be verboten?
-
Ahah it looks bizarre, I crunched a few bloody fingers today doing car repairs and still managed to smile at this :D (Image)

port blocks?

(Quote) All that matters is that you remain cash flow positive. You also don't need to buy brand-name badges, you can settle for the generic budget ones like the rest of us working class

They have two WAFs filtering the client requests in series, yet their upstream still timeouts.

(Quote) Does any provider offer IPMI over IP? IP-KVM is also sometimes not offered over IP, which is what the IP in IP-KVM stands for,

(Quote) debootstrap doesn't install any package above a bare minimal console environment, the installed system is ~300 MB IIRC. My basement workstation was born out of debootstrap 15 years ago. Still standing.

(Quote) VPS Price Tracker still runs on GC, their performance and stability are above average. The problem were the manual migrations, I posted a detailed walk-thru of the 16-hours restoration the first time it happened. But in essence, in VPS Price…

VPS Price Tracker is made up of two processes using 200 MB RAM: 140 MB for Nodejs and 60 MB for the database. Storage requirement is 4 GB. It could almost run on an ARM router on top of a fridge.

(Quote) There was a guy who plugged a chatbot to his VPS service helpline. No man in the booth, no fuss with petty customers. Food for thought.

(Quote) No I was asking the coke peddler :D Haven't seen his blip in the radar since time immemorial.

(Quote) Will you restock your whmcs? Or professionally pivoted to peddling coke? :D

I took some time to write down how the backend, frontend and database of VPS Price Tacker work and why I use a custom DB instead of MariaDB or PostgreSQL.

(Quote) Did you know that before price gauging was coined into a hot term for stoking the news readers, the real deal, eye gauging, existed in the far west, and apparently was more common than pistol dueling according to wikipedia? The objective was…

I don't think you can buy any fish in this country for under 20€ / kilo. Otherwise I would walk home from the store with buckets of shrimps and salmon. But no mussel for me, you can have them all.

The only transistors in the Ibiza 1999 are in its single ECU box under the hood, anything else is made of relays, pumps and thermocouples. This car can't show me your ads Ahah ...but I do get flyers under the wipers. No one should be allowed t…
