(Quote) My favourites will probably be Ramnode (in the hope they are still as rock solid as they were before the switch), the Liteserver.nl sub brand for web hosting (as soon as I remember their name, I will open a ticket and ask for resource limits…

(Quote) I agree, the per account resources hit hard. I used to actually make use of my reseller there. If I still had multiple active cPanel client accounts there and resources would have been changed to how they are now.. Ouch :/ As for the pricin…

Yup, also received the price increase mail @Lee @bikegremlin @vyas

(Quote) It's getting better by the day! And, more importantly, support has improved significantly.

(Quote) I think MyW from @MikePT allows you to set remote backup location in DA iirc.
-
(Quote) I think at that point I was no longer a customer. I haven't heard people complaining about performance after the transition, though.

(Quote) I always thought Ramnode did a great job. Stellar performance, reliability and good support :) Not as high limits as HM, but I never noticed bad performance. https://clientarea.ramnode.com/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=4160

(Quote) Ouch, that sux :/ Say what you will, but I trust @MikePT more than I trust HM and to the extent that I am sure that Mike would tell us in time if he was about to discontinue/close MyW so we can move our data. Hetzner servers are reliable, to…

This is "pro version": https://fastestvpn.com/pro-version No LTD available for that one. Just ignore the upsell :) Please read: In their comparison table it seems like some streaming services are only available in Pro version. I chatted…

(Quote) 1) Just ignore the upsell. I think they are trying to sell a "Pro" version with even faster servers sometimes lol. 2) The app rating doesn't really look much better on android (3,8/5) and their apps are known to be buggy, ove…

(Quote) Too many changes in too little time. Also too many drastic changes. I mean, I only had 1 cPanel left there. But it was a Reseller plan. Imagine you had 20+ clients on there relying on the old limits. I'd also make the move in that case …

Please see: https://talk.lowendspirit.com/discussion/3346/hostmantis-enterprise-reseller-hosting/p1 This has already been discussed over there ;) And yes, it's just like you said. I asked them to downgrade my acc from reseller entry to shared…

(Quote) They are most likely reselling PureVPN (just like Ivacy does, too). That being said it is still good value for the money you pay.

@SGraf is running their Shared Hosting on ApisCP, and pretty stable at that :P Need to put my idling service with them to use for once :D

(Quote) Ah, fair enough. Better check with their support/sales perhaps? Oh, and I totally forgot about Complianz ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/complianz-gdpr/ ). Their free plan (not listed on website afaik; see difference in free and premium fea…

(Quote) Thanks for mentioning these alternatives. I will make sure to check them out, however I will likely stick with the two I have mentioned. Just to chime in on CookieYes. On their page they also mention a limit of 100 pages and 5000 cookie-cons…
-
(Quote) Usually I never had problems with these limits. Cookiebot does not count views/visits afaik. Only pages/sites. Consentmanager has 5000 visits/mo, but I usually recommend my clients to get legal texts from IT-Recht Kanzlei which partners with…

(Quote) For Cookies I can recommend https://www.cookiebot.com/en/ (has WordPress plugin) and https://consentmanager.net (has WordPress plugin, too). Both automatically scan all your cookies and sort them automatically in categories (necessary, comm…

(Quote) I never really used Duplicator but afaik, AIO WP is as fast as it gets when you are looking for a hassle-free WordPress migration plugin. The process of migration using Duplicator described here sounds a bit longer : https://wpshout.com/qui…

(Quote) Recurring discounts TM ;)

(Quote) I agree there is a higher security risk with multiple domains/websites on shared entry compared to isolated reseller sub accounts, however, in my case, I only host 1 website and subdomain there, so I don't really mind. For reseller&…

(Quote) Resources appeer to be the same minus the storage (25GB NVMe Shared vs 50GB NVMe Reseller). You can create unlimited addon domains under shared imho. And since reseller now counts the resources as total for all subaccounts it is not more tha…

(Quote) For a reseller plan that can get expensive, for a shared hosting, I think it is fair. Other companies charge you like 10$ to restore a backup like Hostens or Netcup(?!) and granted you'll save a lot by switching to DA, I think that'…

(Quote) Backwpup is another solid name out there. You probably are referring to Prime Mover, right? :P https://wordpress.org/plugins/prime-mover/ 1000 active installs is a bit too few numbers to convince me to rely on such a solution, but if it wor…

(Quote) Interesting indeed. The examples they name are from court cases of the german Bundesgerichtshof (BGH) which you can google "Az. VIII ZR 83/16 und Az. VIII ZR 213/16" and then probably again translate :P E.g.: http://juris.bundesge…

(Quote) Yeah, kinda. Basically, what they say is that as a seller, you have a right to be paid for your work/service. If the buyer initiates a dispute with PayPal and PayPal then decides in their favour the money the buyer paid you (obviously) will …

(Quote) I sometimes use it for projects. Can be quite handy.

(Quote) Yeah, I was also not quite sure about the actual limit, but so far it seems to be "unlimited". You also never have to enter a license key, just upload the unlimited extension from the Download link they sent you and that's it …
-
(Quote) It's just, once you get used to AIO WP 1-click solution, you don't wanna go back :) To be fair, I am kinda happy now that I have purchased the license as it gives something back to them but is no recurring fee for me either (this i…

(Quote) They do have an appealing Lifetime deal, indeed. However, I feel like Updraft and AIO are just so established and have so many installs that the chance of something going wrong is even smaller. That was also why I skipped the BackupGuard lif…
