(Quote) I can imagine web designers finding this useful. @Mew for sure. Just sharing the news, maybe other developers that like to do research might find this interesting.
-
(Quote) I believe this plugin had the ability to scroll the page and screenshot long pages and unify the shots.

(Quote) SEO wise and assuming you have Cloudflare as front proxy, the domain TLD might be more important for the SEO. Google changes rules every now and then but my guess is that this would matter more than the actual server location in such a scena…
-
@Lee Well you mentioned Cloudflare and further explained and I agree, up to a point CDN's should make it up for the difference in location between server and visitors. However I would say where it does really makes the difference is when we tal…

(Quote) I can't do anything to make it better. I always open a new thread when I have something important to share. But for instance a global DA thread that touches many topics as people add more and more to it, might not be the way for future …
-
(Quote) Me sure. But I'm not the one talking important topics. Just a tourist looking.
-
There is something terrible with the format these forums threads are run. Having long threads with multiple topics is unproductive. I would rather prefer to have many different DA threads, since its important and possibly it's own category for…

I was under the impression that coming to an online community and talk about creating another similar community and try to attract attention was something that is usually unethical and forbidden in the rules. After all all these hosting related comm…

Congratulations @Mason . I've been on these split communities for a few years however some of us just know too little about key figures like yourself. Can you make an introduction, what's your background? I'm sure there are many lur…

@bikegremlin with every SaaS , thats bound to happen. Trust is required. However LP doesn't save your master, and IIRC content is encrypted at transmission and at rest. They have it locked down in such way that if you lose your master and you …

@Not_Oles if nobody take the server, put it to CPU mine monero until the expiration day, at least you can get back 2 or 5 dollars worth of XMR. That Ryzen has a good XMRig benchmark.
-
At this point I expect that anyone using LP for business have a paid plan along with two-factor. If you are using free, what are you even thinking? Good thing is that LP have a solid company behind, Logmein solid track record. Security wise.

(Quote) I disagree that would chop off the best candidates. I see it as, a forum is kind of business it needs a good business manager.
-
Moderator should not be already a mod in that other green forum. Conflict of interest.

I nominate myself @Hxxx . 1- Integrity 2- Knowledge 3- Anti Desktop Hardware for Server. Now for real I nominate @Francisco . I also nominate @Jarland and @yoursunny
-
SaaS is a problem. Self hosted version when?
-
I was about to mention the SQL injections issue. Glad @yoursunny went ahead . At least there is a preg match on services. Cool stuff @Neoon , thanks for contributing to the community with your projects. You tend to do nice useful stuff. :)

This is why you don't reinvent the wheel, instead you choose from one of the proven secure and stable PHP frameworks which already include best user management practices. User management is never overkill. (Quote) This is your opinion, but is …
-
@corbpie -You didn't used a framework so you are missing good security practices. Good thing you used PDO. @everyone -This project is not to be hosted publicly accessible. Basically there is zero user management, means no login, no secure sess…

(Quote) Who needs Xeon if we have i3,i7,i9 ... see that's wrong. Who needs EPYC? Businesses / companies. I would prefer 4cores EPYC over 4Cores Ryzen any day. What I get from the simple fact that is EPYC and not Ryzen: 1- Proper build. Provider…

(Quote) Chicken Breast >Chick Wing > L > R

(Quote) at that point is a pride thing too. Infinity > Nissan. Lexus > Toyota, EPYC > Ryzen
-
Oh no "diss". Nothing personal, @seriesn high respect for you and the brand. Also the Ryzen thing was not supposed to derail. Good response.
-
I would understand the exception for Ryzen if Crypto, in that market there is no standard on what you use to mine. I guess is whatever works.
-
@seriesn You mentioned it perfectly. Support of ECC depends on the board. Not many ECC capable boards even less boards with IPMI. There is a thing called standards, if business hosting or enterprise hosting then you use actual supported and rated …
-
@seriesn fair response. Mostly agree, highly disagree on the Ryzen and SSD analysis. -Ryzen: Is just not server grade, server grade boards are barely available. Most builds are frankestein. Lots of people running these without ECC. Also manufactur…

Is Nexus Bytes business material? Aka would you use Nexus Bytes for projects where you would had use Azure , AWS, GC, DO, Vultr, , Linode, RamNode? @imok Ryzen alone is not a good representation of value in my eyes. Since that's a Desktop CPU…

Just a reminder. Logo designing is not what @DianTama did, which seems to be joining two existing elements and just put one inside another. Further explanation would be needed. Did you designed the wheel and the terminal icon before joining them? …

You had probably be looking for people in India based on your budget. US devs start at $30.00 /hr minimum. Even for a junior.

Create a database on MySQL / MariaDB. Install Laravel PHP Framework and then install Voyager ("the missing laravel admin"). Define a table using Voyager with the fields you need, follow your Excel logic. One row one server. Then add some …

So far @Bostel is the only one with a sense of what the logo should be. A logo should clearly tells you what's up.

Since people are dropping cP for DA and DA supports Debian 10 of 10 , I would expect to see more people choosing the GREAT and ONLY Debian (thanks) , since in reality is one of the best Linux OS IF not the BEST. Otherwise CL is the NO BRAINER. Sinc…

To be honest people in that troubled scenario where they need dedicated resources but can't afford a Bare metal most likely don't know about VM's with dedicated resources. Probably they want to pay $2 a month and run Facebook on that …

Try to put all that in a single E3 dedicated server with 32GB RAM , maybe for $35.00 /mo to 50/mo? Can you limit or moderate the ram? @gks Since you are on a very tiny budget.

What are you doing on these machines? ML? Data science? If your project run every X time and the rest of the time is idling then you could take advantage of cloud hourly billing. Automate the process of deploying and destroying. Need to process som…

Have in mind that you might earn more on McDonalds or Burger King by flipping burgers. Don't expect a big win in such saturated market, specially if there is no innovation in your services. For example: Companies like Digital Ocean,Linode, Vu…
