(Quote) (Quote) I have been having trouble with that URL. (Quote) Thanks, I tried through a VPN and finally did manage to get control panel to work even with https still broken. I did eventually get email client issues sorted, and had to switch …

@Virmach There is so much focus on VPS that Shared Hosting seems to be unaddressed. That the service may be "UP" does NOT mean everything is working. I.E. My Shared Hosting on LAX2Z017 web site is "UP", but that's it. I c…

@VirMach Is there a particular reason there is no information at all on the network status page with respect to LAX2Z017 being down. From this thread I understand LAX has issues, but IDK why the status page would not be telling customers of that. …

(Quote) IDK, but @VirMach did help me change my primary e-mail not that long ago. I should think you can create a ticket to disappear the old e-mail from your account and replace it with a new one. I think I would recommend that. I don't thi…

(Quote) I had a several suspensions a few years ago on a @Virmach VPS I still have. I was perplexed and stated so in a ticket. @Virmach gave me advice how to potentially fix/avoid suspension. I've not had trouble since. My experience was th…

(Quote) Hmm... I have been successful with Elevate CentOS 7 to Alma 8, and even Alma 8 to Alma 9 without issue. I did have to do some of the things the prepare step advised, and then had to just ignore a few warnings. I feel the pain though. Seve…

(Quote) @VirMach Same issue again today. Have tried to use control panel a few times (separated by hours). Always get time out. No network settings changes on my side. Something seems off with this system's control panel. I do not recall …

(Quote) Not sure how long that would be. After the restart, it still didn't work, but it does now. Thanks all.

(Quote) Hmm. I'm getting "took too long to respond" timeouts (as accessed from Texas).

@VirMach Control Panel / Web Mail for Web Hosting appears to be down for LAX2Z017 (https://lax2z017.virm.ac) .

(Quote) @Virmach Thank you for taking care of it. Hopefully the future is brighter than this past year... for both (all) of us!

@VirMach The saga with my shared hosting is ongoing. Ticket #489532 could use some love.

@VirMach Spelling: "No, you are the owner, and any attempt to give you user information to another person or another person accessing your account can either be seen as having multiple accounts or your account being compromised." --> &q…

(Quote) @VirMach can you see Ticket #489532, or is it in a black hole also? AI responded. (Gosh, I hate the nothingburger AI responses - since they effectively told me to wait [months] for a support agent.)

(Quote) I'm kind of confused what to look for in a vendor. Or is it it more like picking a certain class of domain registrars? Or are you saying just make sure it is not obtained from the hosting service? So if a site that registers domains …

(Quote) I rather consider that advice rather than you rubbing it in. Live and learn! I'll have to figure that out now. I dare say another bit of advice is: If you have a domain under the care of someone else, check it following renewal. I&…

(Quote) Haha, better fix this too to avoid another fact check. The $5 was deducted from the original $35 recurring cost when domain registration was included in the hosting fee, so, it was a wash, not a rip-off for their mistake. They lowered the …

(Quote) LOL, at the end of all that, some great advice and encouragement! I did not yet know about @Virmach magic. I hope you're right. Realistically, its hard to hold out much hope after this long, but hey, it would be great if that's w…

(Quote) Yeah, you already mentioned that. I guess you left out the part where I said "fair enough" on that point (and edited them out).

(Quote) Heh, IDK, maybe someone wants me to dump them because I got too good of a RECURRING Black Friday deal? I guess it has become somewhat clearer that they offered too many of those deals, and now are having trouble maintaining the accounts. h…

(Quote) Good eye, you caught me in a mistake. The web content posted on that domain for more than 20-25 years. The changelog shows activity date="09/20/1997" is when the site content first originated. activity date="December 2010 -…

(Quote) Ok, and LOL, the thread is named "VirMach - Complain - Moan - Praise - Chit Chat" so what do you expect? Fair enough, I edited that out, but, that is NOT why I joined LES. I was fine to leave it at the summary description, but th…

(Quote) I did not pay Godaddy. I paid Virmach. I don't know who Virmach registered it with, but it was renewed for a year, and, as I've stated multiple times, the next due date is 11/23/2024. Godaddy requires photo ID of the registrant,…

(Quote) Virmach did not steal it. Another entity (apparently) stole (control of) it. The domain was transferred to Virmach's web host. It shows up in my Virmach Domains list. I have invoices for the domain renewal going back to when I purch…

(Quote) whois is obfuscated by a proxy and the domain points through cloudflare. The stupid thing is the domain root doesn't get traffic. All the traffic went to sub-domains, so the thief doesn't actually get benefit from having redirect…

(Quote) Nah, not that interesting, its just my surname with .net appended, but, I guess, that's part of what makes it compelling, and more hurtful that they aren't helping me get control of it back despite my 10 month old ticket. It has t…

(Quote) The domain associated with a Virmach web host account that I paid for, which is locked, and, is not even up for renewal yet. Are you asking me for the literal domain name? Also, what does the [OG] tag on your handle mean?

(Quote) Also patronizing. If a vendor offers something in exchange for money, they should deliver. The little amount paid might be a red flag, but it doesn't obviate any responsibility on the part of the vendor to deliver what they promise, a…

(Quote) Wow. That is patronizing. Anyone who knows about Virmach's ticketing system knows that it's very susceptible to becoming a black hole. They threaten you with fees if you don't do certain things to their satisfaction and del…
